collision with engine techs

By thanosazlin, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

tonight had a gladiator with engine techs, ram my reb assault frigate twice. my friend moved with his normal maneuver and rammed me for 1 face down damage card, then used his ability for "engine techs" to ram me again causing another face down damage card. is this legal??

Yup, just so long as he was using a Navigation Command that turn (to be able to use the techs).

I would think yes as it is two different moves, and if he could do the first move and then said he was going to do the second and ran into you it would be a ram then, but not sure.

Yep 2 damage cards for both of you, another reason I love that upgrade.

so can you do that if you spend a command dial OR command token? or just command dial?

Its either. Technically you spend either of those to perform the Maneuver command, and the symbol on Engine Techs means that is resolved during the command.

I gotta say, I am a bit uncertain if you still get the "normal" uses of either the dial or token when you make use of Engine Techs.

You get the effects of the normal command.

thanks all i got it now,

so 3 Gladiators with engine techs + motti = dead assault frigate. totally legit.

My hats off to you if your opponent was caught in that trap. Would be really tough to pull off but is possible.

how about if you had demolisher and engine techs, could you

1. attack

2. maneuver

3. engine techs maneuver

4. 2nd attack using demolisher

On which card? The sequences listed requires two specific cards interacting. If we are to have all interactions with other cards on each card spelled out, we would need a lot bigger cards...
