Like any swarm, the idea is to throw ships at the problem until it goes away.
What this swarm can do that Rebel and Imperial swarms cannot do is guaranteed damage, and ionization. Not necessarily in that order. Ions could be instrumental in the success of Feedback fields.
Two ion cannons are included for large ships, as insurance against high agility small ships, and to make it harder to eliminate the swarm's ion capabilities. Black Sun Soldiers are used to potentially shoot first against other swarms. Or Feedback first, as the case may be.
What do you think? Is the ability to do guaranteed damage worth the premium of 1 ship? (an 8 ship swarm cannot all have Feedback Arrays) Is having ion abilities in the swarm also worth the premium of 1 ship? (to put two ion cannons in drops it from 7 ships to 6 ships) Can a 6-ship swarm cut it?
