Game over when all rebels are wounded question.

By animattor78, in Imperial Assault Campaign

My buddies and I played Imperial Hostility mission lasdt night. The book said the mission was over when all rebles were wounded or the captive is defeated. Does wonded mean when they flip thier cards to the red side or when they have flipped to the red side and depleted all health for the red side? We debated this and played with them being allowed to continue unti lthey were out of helth on the red side of the card. I won as the imperial but it took 10 rounds and i killed all of them.

"Defeated" means you've taken damage equal to your health. For any Imperial deployment card, and for the Rebels' non-hero Allies, defeat means the figure is dead and removed from the map; if it was the last (or only) figure in its activation group then the deployment card is also removed from play.

But for Rebel heroes, the first "defeat" just means you flip you card over, remove all the damage so you're back at full health (but usually with reduced speed/endurance/etc) -- that hero is then "wounded" but still in play. If the hero is "defeated" (takes damage equal to its health) while already "wounded", then they are "forced to withdraw" and are removed from the map and out of the mission.

So in that mission, you only have to flip each hero once, to the "wounded" side.

Oh wow that would have made a huge difference.

From the rulebook to backup what taleden said:

LtP Guide pg. 8:

DEFEATED
When a figure has suffered damage equal to its Health, it is defeated.
When a hero is defeated, he becomes wounded (see below). When
any other figure is defeated, it is removed from the map.
When the last figure in a group is defeated, the corresponding
Deployment card is returned to the Imperial player’s hand.
