Alls quiet in the Relgim sector

By clontroper5, in Star Wars: Armada

After hearing reports of insurgency activity around the planet of Ord Trasi (my pick to represent eastern Washington) the imperial navy dispatched a task force consisting of 2 Victory 1 class star destroyers which met up with a gladiator II class star destroyer that was in a nearby sector they were led by a commander fresh out of the academy by the name of Josbu Thake (my star wars name) who was being accompanied by Admiral screed serving as an adviser to this fledgling commander after arriving at the location of this alleged "insurgent fleet" the task force found nothing more then a squadron of Hutt ordered star vipers that quickly retreated to hyperspace.

the task force took up defensive positions and performed a complete sensor sweep of the area uncovering nothing except the fact that these rumors were blown way out of proportion and someone was going to pay for this embarrassing use of imperial time and funds.

There is one more reported location that the "insurgent fleet" may be, if it even exists...

the task force will investigate further this evening.

translation: after receiving my Armada game plus imperial wave 1 i was super stoked to play a match at one of my flgs to find that only 2 other players showed up last night and neither had armada and were there to play x-wing. but that was the less popular of he 2 game stores i attend regularly and uncles has ffg night today so i will probably be able to play tonight.

also note this was inspired by Mikaels HNN news thank you

edit: part 2 has been posted in my second post below

And so it is that the Rebel insurgency is much more contained than its propagandists would lead loyal Imperial citizens to believe and fear. Such is the way of terrorist organizations - more bark than bite. The citizens of the Relgim Sector can sleep easy tonight, knowing that the Empire is maintaining their security and stability.

Translation: Superb, but sorry you couldn't get a game in.

You might want to create a Facebook Group (and/or Google+, but I imagine FB to be more widespread), like the ones listed on this page. I see that Spokane is not yet represented there. Also, maybe post notices at your FLGSs' bulletin boards (if they have them) to let people contact you.

Josbu Thake (yos-bu thake) Captains log: we investigated the other suspected location, a small asteroid field nearby to an refueling outpost and at first uncovered nothing but while on route to the outpost to restock on supplies we were Ambushed by what we can only assume was the reported rebel fleet. They consisted of 2 cr90 corvette class ships and a Nebulan-b frigate accompanied by several groups of fighters. fortunately since we were still searching the area we were on high alert and well prepared for the rebel scum. Admiral screed took command when we were attacked and with his leadership we made short work of them disabling one of the corvettes and obliterating the Nebulan-b, unfortunately the other corvette along with several fighters was able to escape. our losses were minimal with only minor damage to the victory class Valient while my ship the Cossack was never involved with the engagement. many tie pilots died while fighting the rebel fighters, their sacrifice will be remembered and we will hold a ceremony to honor them as victorious dead.

translation: I played my first game!!! My list 290 points

Victory-1:Screed, Wulf(105ish)

victory-1:(73)

Gladiator-2: demolisher, assault concussion missiles (78?)

4x tie fighters (32)

my opponent Nathan: 300 points

Nebulan-b escort frigate: Yavaris, raymus

cr90: Dodonna's pride, electronic counter measures

cr90: jane's something? (ignores obstacles) dodonna

keyan farlander

b-wing

wedge

2x X-wing

there was a couple more upgrade cards but he never used them and I don't recall what they were.

I chose initiative and selected fleet ambush from his objectives allowing me to set up 2 of my star destroyers in the center of the map :) i charged the demolisher at him destroying the yavris the second turn and was able to chase a cr90 down with my star destroyer i ended the game having lost all 4 ties but retained all my caps and i killed the neb-b and dodonna's pride along with wedge and 1 x-wing

Only thing is that you have my list wrong in the report, it says like I had 4 bombers and only 1 victory 1, but that's incorrect

But that's a minor complaint and I really appreciate that you took the time to Wright up an awesome story for my battle!

Ah, right you are. I tend to copy the text and code from previous posts and then edit. I didn't edit this one all the way, but I've made the corrections to the errors you pointed out.

Many thanks for your kind words.

Yeah, the advertisements have actually become my favorite part of writing the blog. Some of them (including this one) are mine, but I also find some good gems online. Usually, I'll link to what I believe to be the original source.
