Two YT-2400s, zero Fat Turrets

By Biophysical, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been having a lot of fun and success with a double TIE Defender HLC build, and I was thinking what the Rebel equivalent would be. B-wings don't really cut it, because they're so slow and easy to pile on at close range. Then I started mulling over the 2400 more, and how it would actually do a pretty good job standing in for my TIE Defenders. This is what I came up with.

Dash Rendar 36

Predator 3

HLC 7

Recon Specialist 3

49

Leebo 34

Predator 3

HLC 7

Recon Specialist 3

47

There's 4 points left for an Engine Upgrade. It could be 5 points to drop Predator to Lone Wolf, and maybe put Tactical Jammer on someone as well.

As a whole, the squad is pretty tough, fast, and hits like a brick with the pair of re-rolling, focusing HLCs. It's also got these neat little turrets that are occasionally useful when the HLC doesn't have a shot. They would normally be useful against Decimators and other YTs, but it does give an option to try and wear down some B-wings and Y-wings, or strip a token off of a more maneuverable fighter. I don't like having only 3 dice at range 1 to the front, but nothing's perfect.

I like this a lot, and have also been messing with the idea of wild space fringer with outrider and ion as a range 1-3 control turret. I think this ship is super neat and flexible and has way more depth than just fat dash.

Ooo, double anti-pursuit lasers for lulz. Flip those pancakes right into your opponents face.

APL might be pretty good here. Leebo could probably do okay with Intelligence Agent.
