For those who have the book, what aliens and other assorted monsters are covered in the RT rulebook? Orks? Eldar, both normal and Dark? Ambulls and Cudbears and CatachanDevils, (oh my)? I ask because I want to know if getting Creatures Anathema would be worthwhile for use in my RT games...
What kind of Critters are in the book...?
Unfortunately, they forgot to include the "Buy Creatures Anathema" sidebar in the book. The Imperial citizen profiles were done to take up less space but still be useful, which is nice. They also have Imperial Navy and Pirate NPCs, marines for Ork and Eldar ships, a Kroot Mercenary, and the Ebon Geist, a lesser daemon that tries to break into ships a lot.
The stats are well done, and the illustrations are awesome (upgrade to mind blowing for the Ork Freeboota), but you will have some degree of difficulty if you don't have DH materials such as the Xeno-generator or Creatures Anathema....at least thus far in the line.

Meaning we might have a "Creatures of the Kronus Expanse" at some point.
Looks like I'll be picking up Creatures Anathema, then. I already have the Xenos Generator from Dark Heresy, so those two should cover my alien needs for now. By the way, are the Ork and Eldar pretty much the same as the ones from Creatures Anathema, or are they different builds on the same basic creature?

The Orks in Creatures Anathema are normal 'Ork Boyz', Ork Nobz, Gretchin (Grotz) and Attack Squigs. I imagine the previously-mentioned Ork Freeboota in RT will be somewhat different in abilities to any of these - same species, different job description.
Same can be said for the Eldar - the entries there are for Dire Avenger Aspect Warriors, Rangers and a unique Eldar Pirate Prince. I imagine the Eldar stats in the RT rulebook are for Eldar Corsairs - those who crew and fight from the starships of the Eldar - who again would be distinct in abilities from their kin, Once again, same species, different job description.
Precisely. They are not new creatures, just adjusted profiles and skill blocks.
Thanks, gents. I'm looking forward to this game in a way I haven't since the announcement of WFRP 2e. It's what Ive wanted since the 40k Rogue Trader days...
Just a small question: Is the Genstealer in the RT book? or do you need to buy Creatures Creatures Anathema to get his powerful stats?
Its not in Rogue Trader, for which I am thankful. Buying the core system twice was plenty, no need to pay for the same monsters.
