I'm an amateur painter with little to no practical experience.
REPAINTS!
Most of these, all i did was a simple watered down oil paint wash for a heavily weathered look. My specific aim was for re-entry burns and blast scoring. Most also had the engines painted as well.

This E-wing got the basic wash along with a mod to move the top cannon to the rear because as an engineer at heart that really, REALLY bugged me.

This is what prompted me to do all this in the first place. The Aces A-WIng is just too pristine. Far too pristine. So it got some heavy weathering and a significant dulling.

Basic Red Squadron X-Wing. It also got a stripe down the nose that i got with some masking tape.

My two Zs in a red make-up.

Yeah, disclaimer. Those black and red Zs I DID NOT PAINT. I won those at a regionals tournament. I'm only throwing them up here because the paintjob is baller as heck.

Nothing special here. Just a simple wash and the engines were painted, though you can't really tell from this angle.

I don't play Imperial, so i tend to use my TIEs as test beds. This one got the first paint and some experimental weathering on the solar collectors.

And finally, my most recent paint, Wedge's Red 2 X-Wing. The black wash went on way too heavy tbh, im not sure why but it was just a lot thicker on the first run. I wore that down into the acceptably done wash seen here.
The paint is a little sloppy. I've got chronic anxiety, and some of the symptoms manifest into full-body shivering and shaking hands. Needless to say, it's not very suited to small detail painting on such a small scale. Plus the paint i was using tended to clump in globs. Given that, i suppose it's not as bad as it could have been. I'm probably gonna touch it up again sometime until i have it the way i want it.
Comments? Suggestions? I really enjoy the activity, I just have almost no knowledge of how i should actually be doing this.
