Executing Cylons

By Daver2, in Battlestar Galactica

Just got my Pegasus, so I got a lot of questions... :)

- What happens on NC when we execute a REVEALED Cylon? He loses all skill cards and then resets on Occupation Authority? That's all?

- What happens when we execute an Infiltrating Cylon Leader (or Sympathetic) on Galactica? He loses all Skill Cards and Resets on Resurrection Ship?

- What happens when we execute a plain and simple Cylon Leader on NC? Again, just resetting?

Baseline: Cylons never change character sheets? (that seems logical...)

Is there any way to go back infiltrating on NC while galactica is not in orbit?

if a cylon is executed on NC when galactica is back, where does he reset?

Also, is there an official "fix" for the killing of the civilian ships early, to make nc easier thing?

thanks

Yes. Death is mostly an annoyance to the Cylon.

Yes.

Yes. He would also stop Infiltrating and be unable to start infiltrating again till Galactica returns.

No.

As per pg 14 of the Pegasus rules, he would go straight to the Ressurection Ship. This seems to be an exception to what you would see other times in the rules about where players go. Most of the time determining whether you go to Brig/Sickbay or Detention/Medical Center seems to be based solely on whether or not you are on New Caprica, not whether Galactica is back.

Also, is there an official "fix" for the killing of the civilian ships early, to make nc easier thing?

As of now? No.

I have not seen it actually used in a game yet, but it sounds dificult to set up, prone to backfiring, and probably does not always give as great an advantage as people think.

Time will tell.

1. Was I under the impression that an executed revealed Cylon on New Caprica discards all cards and goes to the Medical Center?

2. And the civilian ship thing works perfectly fine without a first-half Cylon, and with a first-half Cylon they need to prematurely jump Galactica at -3 population and hope none of the humans can Strategic Planning it (Kat could auto-tank it with Hotshot). Other than that, we haven't found much to counter it yet. House-Ruling "Preventative Policy" so that it doesn't apply to population seemed to help last time, because the difference of one or two population can determine the shape of the game quite drastically. Cylon bombardment of Galactica becomes the main motivation for non-humans during this strategy, assuming ships are available to activate and not nuked/Pegasus CIC'd/XO-weapons controlled, etc..

Also, one more.

For a revealed cylon, is there any other ways to get more than one supercrisises than

- camping out after the reveal?

- getting executed on NC AFTER galactica has returned?

The cylon leaders can get one after every time they stop infiltrating, so they don't need as much "foresight" in planning their supercrisises...

This seems somewhat limiting for the average Cylon, since he cannot even infiltrate!!!

"- getting executed on NC AFTER galactica has returned?"

Does that not send you to the.. Medical Center or whatever it's called?

There is one other way I know of for a revealed Cylon to get another SC. I think there is a SC that lets each revealed Cylon draw a SC if the check fails.

As for it being limiting, it's LESS limiting than the base game. They still get their free one for revealing. Only getting executed takes that away from them. Now they have a way to get more.

Executing a revealed cylon player in the new caprica phase before Galactica returns to orbit will place them in the Medical Centre and force them to discard their hand (page 14). If galactica has returned, they are placed on the resurrection ship (empty handed).

Executing a cylon infiltrator on Galactica will put them on the resurrection ship as a revealed cylon and force them to discard their hand (an infiltrator is treated as a human, etc. page 11).

If a cylon leader is executed on new caprica before galactica returns will find themselves in the medical center as a revealed cylon. If galactica has returned, it's the resurrection ship (again, page 11/14).

There is no way to infiltrate while on New caprica and when galactica has not yet returned.

If a Cylon is executed when Galactica is back, he will find himself at the resurrection ship without a hand, and will not draw a supercrisis if he is ordinarily entitled (if he was an unrevealed cylon, page 12).

There is no official fix for deciding it is a good idea to lose ships early. Frankly, there are greater problems, like an Admiral using the political card that prevents resource loss and then ending the game after galactica returns, or an unrevealed cylon as admiral immediately ending the game while most/all of the civilian ships are still on new caprica (often prompting other players to execute the admiral "to be sure" and then that player picking the top character in the line of succession).
