I've been running a five ship rebel squad lately that I've done very well with so far (13-2).
It consists of:
Green Squadron Pilot + Refit + PTL X 2
Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS X 2
Bandit Pilot
Total: 100
I feel this is a better version of BBBBZ. When you compare the two, the z's are equal, my two blues have a slight advantage because of FCS. The wild card is my two a-wings vs two bwings. I feel with ptl and higher PS they have a slight advantage there as well.
What do you think?
Versus a BBBBZ build? Might be a little better. Against some dumb fat turret you've gimped yourself by going with useless A Wings instead of B's.
This is part of the reason BBBBZ is so strong, it does a pretty good job at killing pancakes and stuff that would counter it like Obsidian/Black Squadron swarms aren't in the meta anymore because of numerous factors.

My buddy (UncannyPenguin) ran 5 A-wings in Florida at the regionals, ran into a Fat Han and Z's list, and a Han/Outrider combo. In one game his 3 prototypes were completely responsible for the outrider's death, and in another, Gemmer sat behind Han for something like 8 turns, dealing 1-2 damage a turn while Han missed everything. Never discount the A-wing.

Agreed, at the regional in Barcelona a guy ran 6 prototypes (all with chardaan, 5 with autothrustors) and made 10th place with them.
