I'm sorry, but this idiot is in the wrong here. You don't start a thread asking if people like or dislike the look of an item, and then condemn people for answering. The thread wasn't "why the Soace Guppy is the prettiest bulbous one engined starship ever designed" it was "I like its looks, others don't, what do you think?" It wasn't even "I'm building a list to win, here it is" followed by responses of "it's too fugly to be viable, I hate it and I hate FFG for ever building it!" If you don't want to see people answering a question you disagree with, in a thread asking people to either agree or disagree with an OPINION, then don't open the thread!

And honestly he is right about the complaining, there has been a Lot of it. But that's the internet at release time for every game that is out there. Many are just not happy with things about a game and flood the forums with complaints. And his original topic he mentions that he has seen lots of complaints about the Space Whale's look and wanted to know if many shared that opinion. But guess what, most find the Mark II looks just fine, not fantastic but not horrible.

So relax here and remember this is just our opinions and nothing to get upset about.

I think you need to step back for a minute here. You are getting too personal or someone expressing his feelings about how many people are complaining. And Goknight12?is right, this is the Internet.

Some people can't handle when someone is critical about something they care. Its just as stupid as hating someone for liking something you don't like.

Truth is PRODUCT PICTURES ARE CGI AND NOT PHYSICAL MODELS YOU ACTUALLY BUY !

Nebulon B looks nowhere near as good as pictures depict it nor as we saw at at Gencon.

Its complealty right to feel tricked.

The game is still great but could be a bit cheaper for what it actually is.

Actually I took photography back in college and talk to photographers in marketing. Guess what, just like models in magazines every product photographed is touched up before the picture and in processing. (Back then it was Blackroom work but now it's photoshopped.) That's just reality and always will be that way. Marketing is out there to trick you into believing something is greater than it really is, or they would suck at marketing. (My professor told me a story about when he was doing a job photographing a pot pie they tore apart at least 50 pot pies to pick out the best looking vegetables and then made up their on mix for the sauce and played with crust too. Just for one pot pie picture for a store.)

Marketing is the businesses of hyping up and, basically, lying to the public. They're not into business to be your friend.

It isn't right to feel tricked. If you feel tricked by marketing objects looking prettier than the product you've been living under a rock for your entire life. It's a fact of life. Nobody should be tricked by it.

Now if you feel dumb for being tricked by it, that's understandable. But it's still not something to get upset by. FFG is a business. They do what businesses do. Every business that operates on an international scale has to play those same lines. Because it's better for everyone that they show us a top of the line picture and make the game look interesting than a random picture and try to win people over with long complex descriptions of rules. They show a pretty picture. The game looks appealing.

They don't hide the models from you. They're clearly visible before your purchase.

If you bought online and are seriously upset that the paint job isn't up to snuff for what you can spend three hours doing... Well, Expect to pay a lot more per model next time.

A single hour of a professional quality painter's time is worth more than you paid for most of these models.

I like it. It's weird, sure, but they went ALL the way with it's weirdness which makes it kinda cool.

I like the Assault Frigate myself, didn't at first but it grew on me. It's not the best design I've ever seen but the ship is quite nice and it doesn't look that bad IMO.

As far as Microscop... That post strikes me as a random list of things he dislikes about the game.

The Neb B issue is simply a matter of it not getting a proper wash. Other than that it is exactly the same model we've seen the whole time.

As far as the game being cheaper? I'm not sure what to say. But that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Yes they do and they can return their burger nad have one made too look as advertised.

FFG will send you another model if its damaged or badly painted but not if doesnt look as advertised becouse well what they advertised exsits only as CGI.

At least McDonalds product photos are the same things you order just better arranged and professionally photographed, they are not CGI images,

I liked this specifically because of the Altered Beast reference.

I missed this the first time it was around, but the Assault Frigate is the only ship that I do not have and will never get one of as it is so butt ugly. It does have good stats, and titles but just so ugly that I can not force myself to buy one, right now I have at least three of every other ship they have released.

I have a half-painted Mel’s Minitatures AFmk1 I want to try using as a proxy model. I’ve honestly wondering if my severe dislike for the ship is because it looks like Gundam and a potato had a baby

Wow, I never thought I'd see this topic again haha. I still think the reason I like the ship is that it was sooo much fun in Empire at War. However, I still might consider one of Mel's other assault variant types just because the assault frigates blend so much better with the other ships of the rebel fleet. I'm still curious as to why FFG chose the relatively unknown MK2 variant? Maybe it was also one of the creator's favorite ships in Empire at War?

I had to go back and check, I never even use it in Empire at War, I will make Nebulan-B's over it.
