Gladiator Anti-Squadron Build

By megamen, in Star Wars: Armada

I dont know if anybody else noticed this, but the Demolisher title that lets you attack after moving doesn't restrict the attack to ships. This means, if do the proper maneuvers to adjust your hull zones, you can attack the same group of squadrons twice in the same turn.

Gladiator II 62

Demolisher 10

Engine Techs 8

= 80 points

You thought the Nebulon B tore through squadrons, just wait until you see the power of this build.

And this is massively powerful in an Imperial-Imperial mirror match.

What are your thoughts?

My first thought, is that the Neb wipes out 3 hull TIE swarms, I'm not sure if 2x AA dice will make quick work of Rebel fighters with 4-6 HPs.

It might be useful for cleaning up weakened squadrons? I agree you need several AA ships to really hurt rebs....and you can only get one Demolisher. :(

Speaking of GSD, GSD II together with assault concussion missiles, Demolisher can really tear through the Goldfish.

My sister's Goldfish only managed to pour 1 salvo into my VSD and GSD but GSD totally wrecked the Goldfish in 3 point blank salvoes

You will be playing mirror matches.

only problem I see with anti-squadron demolisher is that you're not using Expanded Launchers demolisher to one shot small ships :P

I'm a friendly matches type player, I'll leave those mirror matches to you Tourney types. I'm only speaking to black and white builds.

I'm a friendly-games-guy, too, but I had just played a mirror match. It happens...

I did some practice maneuvers with the Demolisher/expanded-launchers/engine-tech combo yesterday. I am honestly worried about a potential table-flip by my roommate the moment that actually works in battle. :P

if you think that's bad, try this:

Gladiator + engine techs + expand-launchers + demolisher

and then

Gladiator + insidious

watch your opponent fret his ass off about the demolisher...and then insidious wins the game by skirting unnoticed around his formation :P

Oh yeah, I remember theory-crafting some ideas about that title when it was spoiled.

He already despises TIE Phantoms, I can just imagine his hate when I spring a starship sized Phantom maneuver on him. Gladiator+Insidious+Engine-Techs+Expanded-Launchers.

Of course that's gonna be very dependent on initiative and movement order to work to the fullest.
