I have an Interdictor

By horsepire, in Star Wars: Armada

Now you see it...

...now you don't:

Couple more pics - I did another couple of washes in the more detailed areas and I've started highlighting the edgelines and painting some of the panels.

Obviously when I'm done I'm going to do a matte varnish to take that obnoxious shine away, but for now you'll have to deal with it :P

You can only sort of tell from the above pic since my camera isn't good and I've only done a couple panels, but I'm experimenting with using different tones of gray like on the Victory to add some flavor. I haven't decided how patchwork I'm going to go - Mel has done such a great job with the fine details that I might not have to vary my palette much.

Looking good. I really have to finish mine.

I'm hoping to get more time to work on mine tonight. I think I can finish most of the hull in another extended session. I've really only spent about half an hour on her so far - I never have time to paint anymore. But this has been a fun project!

I hear ya, no time. I started mine with a lot darker color, and I may just leave it that way. Can't hurt to be different.

Did your starboard antenna break off?

Actually my port antenna broke off. Wasn't in the baggy either. I just used a piece of plastic rod and replaced it.

Oh man. I got an email from Shapeways customer service that my Interdictor's starboard antenna broke during manufacture. According to them, the antennas are too thin and will break off too easily, so they don't want to reprint the model for me. They did offer equivalent store credit and free shipping, though, so it looks like I'll get the damaged model now and a corrected version when it's available (Mel told me he'll work on a fix soon).

You know, I literally did not even notice it had broken off until yesterday, so I have no idea when that happened or how. I'm sure I can work up a replacement, though.

Yeah, it's not a huge deal. I'm just kinda surprised that it passed Shapeways' pre-production check at least four times (yours, Wes's, Mel's and mine), given that it promptly broke three out of those four.

Ah well, I wasn't worried either. All fixed now.

Question... With all these 3rd party miniatures, where do I get the cards from?

Question... With all these 3rd party miniatures, where do I get the cards from?

In the past (for other games, such as e.g. Sentinels of the Multiverse), I've always been extremely happy with printerstudio.com. Others swear by Artscow.

But I guess most people just print them themselves?

But where do I get the soft copies of the cards and the necessary tokens?

The cards and bases are easily found by using this forum's search function. Try for example "interdictor card".

But good point about the defense tokens, I'll look into adding the files for those to my customs library.

I see some interesting ships there. Especially that bulk cruiser though I can't find the miniature for it anywhere

I think that one's Utar's.
