I was reading Major Rhymer's card and it seems he uses the non-squadron side of the range ruler. Can I please get clarifaction?
Edited by Azorius16Major Rhymer: How does he work?
He does. He can fire at up to medium range on the other side of the ruler, and so can friendly squadrons at distance one from him.
How does he work?
There's no Rhymer reason for it!

So then this would mean that even lowly TIE Fighters can throw their 3 Blue anti-squadron dice and their 1 Blue anti-ship die at enemy ships as far away as medium range as long as they are clustered around Major Rhymer's squadron!?!
That just made him a higher priority target if he is among my enemy's forces.

No, its only when attacking ships, so just the 1 blue anti-ship dice.
Also, engagement rules still apply, so if there is an enemy fighter squadron engaging them then they cant shoot ships at medium range, they would need to kill the fighters/get unengaged first.
Edited by MaverickNZAh! So "Battery armament" refers exclusively to anti-ship dice. When I read "all dice in their battery armament," I was sorely frightened.
I made this mistake as well, but that was because I'm still getting used to the "ship" term being used for the actual ships and thinking of "X-Wing ships" as squadrons. I thought I could field a sniper-type squadron that will just rip apart enemy squadrons at long range but no such luck!

Which, incidentally, is just slightly farther than range 3 on the squadron side of the ruler. For reference purposes.

Yup. He basically makes the squadrons he's with a sort of medium range ad-hock turbolaser turret, in a manner of speaking.
It's important to note that while he can extend the range of other TIEs battery dice, if they aren't bombers , they still can't use crit results. So consider making him chummy with more bomber squadrons. That said, it doesn't mean he doesn't make other TIEs a credible threat. More dice is still more dice. You just have to be careful about tracking when bombers and non-bombers are shooting for crit purposes.
