Regionals list: advice needed

By LouisCypher, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have a Regional championship incoming, and still I'm unsure about what to fly!

My options:

1: 3x Dagger Bs with HLC and FCS

2: Ten Numb (Mangler, VI, FCS); 2x Blue Bs with HLC and FCS

3: MegaDash (PTL, Outrider, HLC, Kyle, Engine, Prockets); Jan Ors (Modly, autoblaster turr, VI, Engine, Chewbacca)

4: Jake (PTL, VI, Title, Prockets, Autothrusters); Leebo (Determination, Mangler, Outrider); Blue B

I had "decent" results with all of them in some testing games, but still i'm not completely sold to one of them.

I got a 2nd place with the 3 Daggers in a store champ, but I've been mangled by Soontir and Turr as I simply could not catch them (that's why i thought about Ten in the 2nd list).

The 3rd is a very brutal one, where Dash makes all the dirty job and jan just triest to stay alive and in range 3 of the Outrider, maybe putting some hurt with the turret against nasty hi-Ps hi-defensive targets, but suffers from Ion-enriched lists (just lost a game with Dash ionized in the middle of the field and brought outside without any possibility to save him)

The 4th is the most funny, but maybe less competitive of the lot. Jake's the hunter, Leebo is there to stay and put some crits around, the B can either draw enemy fire or bring pain if ignored.

I guess my meta will be rich in Falcons and Yt-2400, Soontir will surely be present but I've not seen many Deci around. Not sure about Phantoms, I haven't seen them a lot after the nerf.

What do you guys think about those lists?

Your advice would be much appreciated!

L.

4 may be my favorite list there.

The big dog seems to be RAC+Fell, so a ps-9 A-Wing helps, the mango cannon can stack crits, and B-Wing are what they are. I think you would do will with it

My vote is #2

I just forgot to tell you that games will be timed at 50 mins

I like #2 the best

Wow, no way I'd go to that. I can't stand 60 min rounds, but yeah, if you want to 'game' that, go with double falcons or lots of b-wings

I don't have double Falcons, nor C3po nor r2d2 and i don't want to run a cheebo list.

I know 50 mins is a very short time, so i need either a very hard hitting list or a very tough one.

Bs may surely work, so may Dash and Jan (if they go for the Outrider, he may escape while wrecking them, if they go for Jan i'm sure that Dash can kill more points than her value).

That's why I'm not sure about the Jake list, as it lacks a bit of firepower and if they go for the B first i'd start with a 22 pts handicap that may be hard to recover from.

You are going to a Regional with only 50 freaking minute rounds? WTF!? Where?

They do realize that's against the official tournament rules.

Dogfight tournaments for the X-Wing miniatures game are held in a series
of 75 minute tournament rounds. Tournament organizers may adjust this
number up or down by up to fifteen minutes as they see fit, to a minimum of
60 and a maximum of 90. If they do, they must inform all players in advance
of the tournament. Each tournament round, players will score tournament
points based on the result of their game. After a predetermined number of
tournament rounds (depending on the field size and time constraints of the
tournament), the top point-scorer is the winner of the tournament unless
there is a championship bracket scheduled.

I'd honestly contact FFG.

I think Jan is a bad idea. Too easy to kill and you give up a big chunk of points. She is not worth the +1 red die she provides Dash

I'm in Italy.

I haven't checked italian tourney rules .pdf, I'll do tomorrow because i'm on mobile phone now.

That's not as bad as it seems.

Well, 5 diced-Dash can oneshot a tie fighter, an interceptor or a Z. Two turns for a B and Y. Better from range three if possible.

Jan has ps 10 and 360° uncancellable hits, so you can slow roll in early game and stack some focus. With a little luck she can dodge with Engine and put a hole or two in enemy's ships and Chewie makes her a 7 (or 8 if you discard Direct hit) hitpoint ship.

Maybe they are different. I'm not sure.

Yeah... Jan + Outrider is pretty cool. There is something to say for 5-6 dice attacks. While you may only be throwing 1 a turn, if the defender fluffs a defense roll, he's dead. Many times they can be better than 3 or 4 two dice attacks.

I just checked Italian Tournament Rules, they are exactly the same as in English, just translated :P

I'll ask the TO about that, anyway I'm not sure they'll change it.

So, coming back to Topic, how about the squads?
