BSG, Star Trek (TOS, TNG DS9, and even Voy), and Battlefleet Gothic could take my money any day.
Which other settings (from Star Wars and beyond) interests you?
The Freespace-Universe (Decent: Freespace & Freespace 2) - I'd love to lead a Shivan Armada into battle
Most of the suggestions are fine. Maybe not BSG because of the lack of real fighting that could take advantage of the system.
Other systems: Macross (largest fleet versus fleet battles out of anyone else), UC Gundam (most similar to WW2 battles out of any suggested so far), and Aerotech (the Battletech source of space ships)? There's probably even hundreds of other anime series alone. Space battleship Yamato?
Battlestar Galactica is my first choice! I'm so excited about the idea I just made my own...

You can read my playtest session report here:

Second choice would be Clone Wars.
Third choice would be Star Trek (TMP,TOS,DS9,TNG,ENT,VOY in that order). I was very active in the Attack Wing scene, but Armada has completely eclipsed my interest.
If I only get one vote, B5 please...
I hear murmurings of a reboot in the making. So maybe FFG could even be persuaded to do the game. I am salivating thinking how gorgeous their Narn and Centauri minis would be.
If I can vote more than once, please give another tick to Clone Wars. A Venator, I must have...
Star Wars:
Old Republic Era and Clone Wars, I want to see different effects force users have on a fleet scale. Maybe add a "Battle Meditation" mechanic for certain commanders and there are a lot of Jedi boarding actions in Clone Wars.
Non-Star Wars:
I maybe alone on this but it would love to see a ship combat game using ships from Stargate/SG-1.
Can't say. This engine was what I hoped Star Trek Attack wing had become. My vote would be for the original series of Trek of course, since I have little love for the Next Gen period, really. But the likelihood of TOS only is about as likely as WizKids losing the license in the near future.
Babylon 5 is pretty popular and if the weight of this opinion goes anywhere significant I'd throw in with Babylon 5. The universe deserves a good modern fleet game now that A Call To Arms is out of print.
I'm really surprised to see Raumpatrouille as a suggestion. This Black and White German TV show might have been german Star Trek but it had fewer ships than even New Battlestar galactica. You might as well ask for Blake's Seven at that level of obscurity.
Clone Wars or maybe World War II would be cool. But my vote is on clone wars.
Clone wars for me. It wouldn't even need to be a different game, just more factions to the same mechanics for more diversity. Then we could have modern, historical, and free for all tournament formats.
Twilight Imperium.
FFG already has the rights (because it's their IP). I doubt it'd do as well as Star Wars: Armada because it isn't Star Wars...but since we're wishing, I wish for the ability to wipe the smirk off the faces of the arrogant Naalu as my Sol Destroyers tear apart their prized fighters while dreadnoughts hammer their heavier warships.
Let me put a question to you guys... Clone Wars, or The Force Awakens?
I'm not as excited for venators and up-gunned Acclamators as I am for that Star Destroyer. Best of all, it can fly alongside our current ships!
B5 would be my vote all the way.
I can't really see FFG doing Babylon 5 because of how old that universe is and lack of interest from the general public. I can see another company getting the game system for Armada, like how Wizkids did with Star Trek, and then releasing B5 on that idea.
BSG, Robotech, Star Wars, Star Trek, 40k.
I love space based things
The Honorverse. Seriously, if you guys have not read the Honor Harrington books by David Weber, you are missing out.
They do tons of long, long, long range missile duels, with ECM, counter missiles and a really funky "shield" system. You would have to add a layer or two to the game, but it could be cool.
One downside: all the ships look fairly similar, just tonnages differences, and they all look like phalics.
It's has it's own game: Saganami Island Tactical Simulator, which I hear is thee most taxing 3d, 2d space combat game out there.
Oh well, here is to hoping! And my vote!
Edited by JutI would love for FFG to develop their own Twilight Imperium universe more, with an armada style game a 10mm ground war game and maybe a couple of RPGs. It's a really well constructed setting with lots of very interesting elements and a fleet battles game would fit it perfectly.
Beyond that, yeah, Star Trek and B5. Maybe Robotech.
B5!

I will admit the token and shield/hull zones of Armada does feel quite like a Star Trek style of space battles.

Yeah, the first time I played armada I was struck by how well the system would work for trek style ships.
The problem for me is that Trek has become such a convoluted mess of contradictory canon over the years that it has completely ruined itself as a coherent expanded universe. If I want "Star Trek" space fleet battles, I'll look to Star Fleet Battles instead of anything that actually tries to adhere to modern Trek "continuity".

Remember folks, the guy who rebooted Star Trek into the mess it is now, is the same guy who is working on the next Star Wars movie. Smile and say Jar-jar Binks.

Yeah, I know. Shudder...
To be fair though, Star Trek continuity was a disaster for years before the (not really a) reboot. Even as far back as next gen they decided to ignore tons of existing stuff, make up things that contradicted it, and then contradict their own canon.
Compared to Trek, the Star Wars expanded universe has been a model of consistency and quality.
Star Trek. in a perfect universe.
Babylon 5 as a realistic possibility.
If by Sith War , you mean the Jedi Civil War featured in Star Wars KNIGHTS OF THE Old Republic,
or to a lesser extent the Cold War featured in the Old Republic MMO ;then Sith War.

Should I sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" first? ![]()
