Monsters sucked and godzilla was a large disappointment ergo i view the director poorly, same goes for jar jar i've watched things like fringe, lost and the star trek movies and disliked them, my opinion is informed by prior experience.

I spend alot of time trying to make people laugh on these and other forums generally thats not indicative of someone who's miserable, in fact the only real trigger i have is the prequels because it took something i loved as a child and broke it for 10 years i couldn't touch anything star wars related.

It's the first of the 3 announced stand alone movies that will be released in between eps 7-9 as part of disney's statement that they intend to release a SW movie every year for the foreseeable future.

Also the plot is about stealing the death star plans.... which is exactly what Kyle did in the very first level of Dark Forces.

And about 20 other people have stolen the Death Star plans. Seriously, this bit of plot has been tread into the ground by the EU.

As for fear for Star Wars, I have more trust in Kathleen Kennedy than I do in Kevin Feige.

And really, all this drama? Here's a note, a movie has more than one lead.

It was for return but before yavin the rebellion was mostly humans, it wasn't until they killed thousands of loyal troops just doing their jobs that the filthy aliens joined their illegal uprising.

You know the funny thing?

It totally wouldn't be that easy in Star Wars, with so many boringly designed and recolored humanlikes.

Mexican Wedge Antilles would be so cool. Although, with the facial hair. He could definitely pull off Biggs.

Maybe the old legends idea of Rogue Squadron, as we know it, is not happening. Perhaps Rogue Group and Red squadron are separate entities. Except for EU references rogue group was all ground based speeders.

Don't get hung up on the old fiction, as much as you or I like it, it is not necessarily going down the same way.

My guess is that Kyle Katarn will not be a character in this film at all. It would be very cool but my hunch is that it's an entirely new story alltogether.

I think it would be awesome if Luna is Katarn, I just don't want to get my hopes up.

Pessimism does shorten lifespans though, multiple studies have confirmed it. And anyway, it's not faith to withhold an opinion until more facts are in, it's good science. Also, in the absence of confirming evidence one way or another, it's probably emotionally healthier to look forward to something than to dread it.

The correct response to any and all things is always scepticism we have a word for taking things at face value without evidence:gullibility.

But you're not being skeptical. Skepticism waits till all available evidence is in place before making a decision on something, and if there is a lack of evidence to support a fact, they will ignore that fact until said evidence is shown.

You on the other hand have already decided that it's probably going to be bad, which not only influences your viewing of the film but will also probably promote dementia, since close-mindedness is linked to stress (i.e., uses many of the same brain functions) and stress is strongly linked to dementia. It's much better to be open-minded and not risk "wearing adult diapers while drooling all over yourself."
