Hi everybody,

I'm currently updating my pilot card tuckboxes and had a few requests to do a separate box in which you can put all pilots for a given tournament list. This way before a tournament you can bag up everything you need and put it into a fancy box.

I wonder how I should call it (in german it will be something like "Kampfgeschwader"), for me "Mission Squad" both sounds appropriate and fits the available spaces on the box, but maybe this is not that great for native speakers' ears, I don't know, like some feedback. "Fighter squadron" is another option, but "Mission Squad" had a better ring`, at least to me. But again, I'm no native speaker. Maybe something entirely different? On BGG someone suggested "Tournament Squad Box", but this would be too long (maybe without the "box").

Mission Squad sounds good. Maybe Mission Roster?

You could even just stay....Squadron.

Flight Group, perhaps?

'Kampfgeschwader' would be a 'Bomber Wing' ... id you take the corresponding military term ^^

'Flight Roster' or 'Squadron Roster' would be better.

or even

'Flight Group Roster'?

'Battle Box'?

When I first read this I assumed you meant a lunch box, but how about your orders are in your confidential file?

Could give it a fancy look by adding a coloured section on the front like say Mauve and then explain mauve is a step more serious than a red alert...(Dr Who reference) anyway what's the name of your players' units?

Is this the name for the box or the squad inside the box?

Well, I was simply asked if I could make a small fancy box for all pilots (and upgrades...) you need for a tournament, so you don't have to carry all your boxes but have a single, nice looking box for this purpose.

So I think it should read the name of the box, not the squad inside (this way I could repurpose it for a special upgrade card box). Maybe I create an additional free space to write down the actual squad name, if desired.

I currently think it might be cool to have different names for different factions:

Imperial Strike Force

Rebel Commando

... (??? S&V)

I also liked the idea to add something special to emphasize that this is an in-action box rather than a store away box. But as much as I like Dr. Who, the reference might be a bit too much, so I thought about something more generic, what do you think:

And if you like the idea of different faction designation, I'd still need something for S&V.

Squad Box

I don't like the idea of designating factions on the box because I'll have to make a new box if I switch factions for my next tournament. I like the design, though!

Instead of Tournament Squad Box or Tournament Squad, what about:Tourney Squad? Another option is to replace "mission" with "sortie", like Sortie Squad. (I like the term "sortie," but I dislike the alliteration!) While a flight is a smaller unit than a squadron, Sortie Flight feels redundant (because "flight" also means the act of flying). Maybe Sortie Roster or Sortie Box.
