"Go on Soldier, Shoot Your Missile" (Scum Kath + Friends)

Just a fun list to get off some turn 2 Focus'd Concussion Missiles to soften up the opposition before the HLC Firespray cleans up.

Just brainstorming sitting waiting for everyone else to finally finish their AP tests so I can leave, came up with a little synergy...

I don't think this list is top-tier but there is something incredibly appealing about throwing focus'd conc. missiles turn 2 and 3. The shield upgrade will keep the Headhunters alive to be a nuisance a little longer and whittle down whatever is left for Kath to finish off.

(For those of you without the card Squad Leader allows a nearby ship with a lower PS to perform a free action that turn, allowing for the Soldier to shoot their missile with the required TL and a bonus focus.)

Drop Gunner and both SUs and you'll be in business with another Z-95.

Reason to do this is two fold. Kath at worst is going to be rolling 4 attack dice. The chances she misses completely are going to be few and far between. Shield Upgrades on lowly Binarye pilots aren't all that great considering you are spending a 1/4 of the cost of the ship on an upgrade. By dropping those you can get another body into the action.

Here's my suggestion:

Kath + SL + HLC + K4 Security + EU

BP + Concussion X 2

BP + Feedback array

= 100

Kath is likely going to be targeted first anyway, so I don't know if SL is all that great, but you can try it. The K4 Sec. is almost an auto-include for me on Scum Firesprays. You can still get your TLs to modify your attacks. Good luck.

Well yes, but at the cost of an action and restricted to range 1-2. Kath could really use her action for herself (she probably wants dual or triple actions) and she doesn't much enjoy the range 2 collar the z's effectively put on her. Shields on z's also seems like a splurge.

A couple of TL:ed and focused concussion missiles can be achieved more point-efficiently in other ways. The following squad comes up in discussions every now and then (usually featuring clusters on all z's but the concussions are probably points better spent), thou I don't know how effective it actually is.

Cracken fires cluster missiles, attacking twice. For each attack he uses his ability and lets the already focused z's pick up an easy TL in the combat phase. All Z's fire missiles the same turn for a pretty powerful alpha-strike. This leaves you a solid 45 points for whatever rocks your boat.

Why not just upgrade to Homing Missiles instead of Concussions? You get to keep your target-lock reroll and they can't use evade tokens, and doesn't require a 2nd squad member to do some sort of action shenanigans.
