I'd like to see more Titles released by FFG

I really like the Y-Wing title in that it isn't an auto include like the Chaardran Refit. It gives a great benefit to the ship, but at a small price. I'd like to see similar treatment to ships which aren't seeing much table time; Xwing, Defender, HWK, etc

Exactly this. Titles are a great way to adjust a ship's role. X-Wings and Defenders are very ripe for a title to offer up more options. It would be great to see one for TIE Fighters too. Black Squadron would be awesome.

I've been toying with the thought of X-wing titles for a while now.

Rogue squadron 2 pts.

Add the evade action to your action bar.

Red Squadron 2 pts

When you receive a blue target lock token add a focus token as well.

Wraith Squadron 1-2 pts

When you're movement ends in the firing arc of an enemy ship, take a free focus action.

Just some ideas I had, trying to play around with the flavor of the different squads and shift the role of the good old X-wing. All she needs is a tiny nudge, something to give her purpose after the B-wing.

Going a step further, Y-wings Rebel only obviously.

Gold Squadron 0 pts.

Reduce the cost of torpedo upgrades by 1 pt

Grey Squadron Ace 2 pts

When attacking outside of your primary arc you may change up to two blank results to focus results.

I am a big fan of titles and would love several options for titles within a given ship type. I would even like to *unique and generic squad titles with synergies only within that squad. Without putting too much thought into it, something like this comes to mind;

*Rogue Leader 2pts

All friendly ships with a Rogue title at range 1 may roll 2 additional dice when attacking with a torpedo. PS 6 or higher to equip.

*Rogue Two 2pts

At start of combat phase, all friendly ships with a Rogue title at range 1 may remove 1 stress token. PS 5 or higher to equip.

Rogue Squad 0pts

You may reduce the cost of Astromech, Torpedo and Moification upgrades by 1 to a minimum of 0.

There are probably far better abilities than these but again, just trying to illustrate an example of a new type of title that combos with other titles within a given ship type.

TIE-Interceptor, not sure anyone would take this, at least at this cost. I'm not a huge interceptor pilot, but I would much rather have a second mod than pay 3 points for green 1 turns, but that's just me.

Even if it immunizes TIE Interceptors to the deadly stress/ion tactic? As it would make the ion maneuver green, too.

The problem with a great Interceptor title is the discouragement of RGT. RGT gives the interceptor the two mod option: it doesn't do anything by itself, it grants the option of a second mod. TIE/x1 I also would hesitate to describe as an autoinclude: yes, you'd always use it, but what it does is give you five options. I'd like to see more titles for things like the Falcon and Outrider where those titles are like mods. Titles like TIE/x1, A-wing Test Pilot and Royal Guard TIE are more like rules text extensions and option generators: I'd rather new titles weren't competing with those. TIE interceptors have an extra mod slot and A-wings have an extra EPT slot.

Actually no, the Ion movement is always white, regardless of the dial. But yeah, if it did then 3 points might be worth it. Again not a huge interceptor pilot, so maybe it's better than I'm thinking.

I used the same wording as with those cards, pertaining to the 1 speed.

I have been thinking for a while now that a rules variant should require a wing commander and this would go right hand in hand with that. I mean game mechanics aside what commander would send a pack of academy graduates or random pilots out without a leader? None because it would be retarded. Every squad has a commanding officer and I think this idea would at least help that reality.

Exactly. I know its a game based on a Sci Fi franchise so hoping for 'reality' is maybe a bit too much, but its also a game of dog-fighting tactics and military strategies so there should be at least something resembling those kinds of traits to it. Ah, just checked the FAQ on that, and I stand corrected. So, better then. I'm still thinking more like a 1 pointer, the ion thing is situational still, and the R2 Astromech is only 1 point.

(*) Generic Black Squadron Pilots need to add Veteran Instincts in order to add the title. So Winged Gundark and Night Beast, which are both not part of the Black Squadron cannot add the title. Well, Howlrunner could, but it would be rather useless on her.

We need a Tyderium title for the shuttle. Only effect is making a non-unique shuttle pilot usable by the Rebels.
