Hi. So, this is going to sound super corny, but here goes! I got a large piece of styrofoam in a monitor box and it's wedge shaped. I instantly thought "star destroyer!" The YT-1300 is 35 meters long and the styrofoam wedge is 8 YT-1300 lengths. So, this "foam destroyer" is about 280 meters. I found this Vigil-class corvette and she fits the bill purdy closely!

So, i'm here to pose to the community, what specs would you assign this behemoth for xwing play? Maybe 3 sections? Each with shields and hull? Range 5? 270 firing arc? Here's wookipeddia daya below. Thanks!

Yes, one just need to combine a wedge-formed object with a handicraft tool to get a Vigil.

The foam is good quality. It's more of a "skeleton" than a full form ship. Might make a fun "attack the corvette while it's not fully operational" game.

Maybe some spray paint? Any ideas on making it look complete? Hahah, mine so far includes construction paper and paint...

And yea, gotta figure out its stats too!

Seal it somehow .. and then start adding plasticard panels and gribbles. Give it a protruding command deck at the front and large engines at the rear. Maybe make a hollow section into a hanger. If you get adventurous you could drill through it and add some LED lighting.

Were I in your shoes, I would not bother trying to make it look like an existing SW ship (EU or otherwise) and just make it look 'Star Wars'

Do not under any circumstances spray it before sealing the polystyrene with pva glue or something, it'll melt on you.

I like the new hull class idea: my gaming group won't mind a new, experimental hull to encounter.

Stats i've drummed up so far:

Fury-class frigate stats (2x as large as CR-90)

Weapons: 2 4die turbolasers (1 gun in each fore and aft)

Range: 5 (360 degrees)

Aft:16 hull 6 shields

Fore: 16 hull 10 shields

2 attacks per turn

What's a Fury-class Frigate? I thought I knew all of the frigates from Star Wars lore but don't remember that one. Its armament makes it look like its very old or not intended for combat though.
