ISD VSD comparison

By cruiser2710, in Star Wars: Armada

Its really hard to make comparisons when the point cost is still up in the air.

That being said...

The speed 3 alone (even though it looks to me to be without a 2 yaw which could be easily remedied with nav tokens) is more than enough to put the ISD way over the top. The extra firepower, the better durability, the 5 squadron value, and the insane ability to shrug off crit cards are just bonuses.

I believe the VSD will go the way of the dodo unless they come out with an "Imperial Grand Admirals pack" (Armada's version of the Aces for X-Wing) where they have some insane upgrades greatly increasing the VSDs viability

(This is all purely speculation meant only to perk the imagination)

She doesn't have Squadron value of 5. They changed it to 4.

Let's reserve judgment that the ISD is broken until we know more. OK, Internet? OK?!?

I think just a balancing by points costs would be better. There can be a certain disadvantage to have all your points tied up in two ISDs....

I'm curious what they'll cost. It has to be over 100. A VCD2 is 85. The three speed and 2 yaw alone is worth 15 points. Let alone the increased attack and hull.

And we don't know that one version doesn't have a 5 squadron value.

But fitting 5 squadrons with this will be tough.

VIV lists look to be terrifying at 400.

They also appear to be outgunned by the VSD2 in medium range, but outgun both the VSD1&2 at close range.

I, for one, welcome our new space slug overlords :D

Surprise announcement: FFG announces Space Slug Expansion Pack for Scum and Villany

:D

My expectations of the Imperial stop just short of one-shotting medium ships. No light ship is going to stand a chance against one if they approach from the front. I'm eager to see what kind of combinations can be put together to make these the awesome dominating space death wedges.... of space.

I'm really hoping the Imperial is priced generously enough to become the flagship to twin victories. Gimme some more points for a few upgrades and some decent fighter cover and I'll have my favorite list with which I can mash the rebels into goo.

Thing is, I'll need those Victories to cover the flanks of the ISD. If the Imperials is better than the Victory then I also imagine getting behind it is going to be much worse D:

Thanks and eep. It's faster and turns better than a VSD. This is bad news for my rebel ships.(Although explains the beginning of Episode IV a little better.

Big beast must have a better thrust/mass ratio :3
