I don't know how many have seen this but this's the size and base comparison for ISD and VSD.
Fortunately it's not as BIG as I imagined it to be so getting a pair of ISD looks fine
ISD VSD comparison
That is awesome. And daunting... Where am I going to store that beast?
I've been trying to find a picture like this for weeks. I'm very pleased to see how large the ISD is.
Others from that series:

Is it me or does it look like the base is bending under the weight of the model?

This stuff has been on the forum for a while, but i suppose it doesn't hurt to re-post.
Edited by InvisibleCalmI wish they had made Home One a little bigger. Looks more like a medium ship compared with the ISD.

Seems reasonable, regarding the scale of the mon cal vs ISD
Can't wait for wave 8 with the Space Slug expansion! ![]()
Thanks for sharing. I really looks good.
Wonder how much I want to do a conversion to ISD-I specifications. I always liked the tall bridge tower and prominent guns. On a $50 model though? Hmm...
Im with a previous poster. Im going to have a lot of trouble storying even one ISD. Hmm... Will have to look into options.
Also, Im so so glad they are never going to do a Super Star Destroyer. It would be ridiculously too big.

Source? Seems like a poor business decision to me.

Other than the guns to the sides of the command tower, are there any visible differences between the ISD-I & ISD-2 ?

I still think the SSD could be a valuable addition to the game. Ooops, I suppose I just "Tarkin'ed" the thread.
Anyway a quote on that would be nice.
There are a few differences between the versions but the gun and command tower are the most prominent. Other things I can think of are guns at the front of the castle, brackets on the back of the engine bells (similar to the VSDs), a different neck-back, the "face" of the Star Destroyers' bridge tower, some side-trench differences... yeah. I suppose I find the subvariant fascinating because it's just that: a subvariant. We see ISD-IIs everywhere and so often now that the Devestator from A New Hope is often overlooked.
Still not sure if it's worth converting a $50 model though. And what happens if I mess up?
Speaking of storage space, I think it indeed will be a nightmare.
As it is, the limited display shelf is being contested by my tanks, ships and anime figurines!
And I want to build a decent sized FLEET!
Oh let's not forget the X-Wing miniatures that I have....

Build the ISD parking garage next to the car garage...
I am thinking of repainting the ISD but I'm afraid of messing it up
Yeah, a SSD at this scale would be, what, 300cm long?
uh oh... looks like the making of another ssd, to have or not to have thread is possibly brewing! ![]()
Sure, a SSD would be cool, but (for those familiar with 40K) it would put the Tau Manta to shame. I mean, we're talking a model that's like, ten feet long!
So is the ISD a large base then? (vs. the medium base of the VSD)
It looks like a larger base.
I guess that's true... I must just have ISD envy.

I'll bet good money that they will make the executor, or executioner, or whatever it's called. One way or the other, that ship will be a part of this game.
"I want that ship, not excuses."
1. Look how big the epic ships are in xwing compared to most of the ships.
2. Other games have done similar things. heroclix scarab for halo, imperial walker for Star Wars miniatures
3. If they make it, we will buy it.
Anyone care for a gentleman's wager on the matter?
Can we please NOT have yet ANOTHER SSD thread? That dead horse has long since been beaten to a chunky salsa.
