what are your wishes for the next expansion and the future of the game?

Anyone thought of A'Sharad Hett as an addition? Could be an interesting one worked into a campaign...

I'm like 99% sure that FFG is going to stick with canon characters for this game (That's why RGC has a generic name and isn't Carnor Jax). But Hett would be a really cool piece to homebrew and try out. :D

Why would you say that? They've already previewed a load of new non-canon characters that they've created.

I think he meant no Legends (EU) characters.

The non-canon characters they've created are for this game's continuity only.

The heroes, Weiss, Somos and now Sorin.

I would be surprised if Legends characters are featured much at all in IA.

HK droids?

They're non unique and hence not really different from Alliance Smugglers or Rebel Saboteurs.

Except we see humans (alliance smuggler) and Duros (rebel saboteurs) in the movies. HK droids are never seen in any of the movies and are only seen in the EU.

We see droids, that's about as close. (And where is the duros? I believe there is one but I can't remember where).

There are Duros in the cantina in ANH. Not totally sure if there are any in Jabba's palace...

I'd still buy it, use the cards, and use the Jar Jar figure to customise some of the other figures:

Here are some options:

  • Jar jar trampled under AT-ST
  • Jar jar torn apart by wampa
  • Jar jar tied to front of repulsor tank

Don't forget "Jar jar killed by friendly fire"

We see droids, that's about as close. (And where is the duros? I believe there is one but I can't remember where).

A Duros, Chachi De Maal, appeared in the cantina scene of ANH. And Neimoidians are supposedly related to Duros.

Truth, but the Old Republic games (KOTOR 1 & 2, TOR) seem to be of a slightly higher level of canon (i.e. subjectively more valid than say, NJO or the Thrawn Triology), since the MMOPRG is still active. And HK is in that.

So FFG have finally acknowledged Ewoks in a Star Wars game of theirs - they're included in an upcoming LCG pack.

So does that open up the doors to Ewoks eventually being part of IA?

I'm sure they'll do an Endor expansion at some point and surely they'd struggle to 'visit' Endor without including Ewoks?

Inevitably, the Ewoks will make an appearance. I assume as Rebel figures, as Scum wouldn't make any sense really...

Jawas > Ewoks.

On the other hand, the other species I'd like to see are: Utai & Pauan, Besalisk, Dug, Toydarian, Zabrak & Genosian.

------

Finally an idea for Jar Jar: He is a 2 pt drop, when he declares an attack, roll a yellow die. If you get 1 surge, Jar Jar attacks the closes friendly target. If you roll 2 surges, Jar Jar attacks himself. When Jar Jar dies, all visible friendly figures regain 2 health and become focused.

I would like to see a small box Solo/Coop expansion. Descent has mini POD solo/coop decks, but you have to print out the campaign yourself. I want an all included boxed expansion, with cards, campaign, and new figures.

As an example: a Dark Forces expansion with Kyle Katarn & Jan Ors as playable characters. Dark Trooper type I, II, and III as imperials, and Grans as Scum. The rest would come from other boxes. It would come complete with AI cards, new items, and a nice glossy printed campaign book.

I'm not saying we would have to have Dark Forces necessaraly, (though it would be cool, as the custom campaign that was being made has shown,) but a campaign like it would be awesome. And having a small box expansion with all the trimmings would beat the heck out of a pod.

Nah, scum is the generic "Everyone else" faction. They could be Rebels, but they could just as easily by Scum. In the WotC minis line, they were "Fringe" which is basically the same thing as "Scum" in this game.

Ewoks are part of the Rebel Alliance. They are "family" ... one tribe, you know? ;)

Maybe ewoks are neutral and you have to "unlock" them during a "return to Endor" campaign. Say in mission 3 the rebels must befriend (meet up, keep alive) some ewoks before an imperial patrol wipes them out. And in, let's say, mission 7 the players get aditional ewok figures to use during the later missions.

I'd really like to see more Story missions like Under Siege (one of my personal favorites) where the Imperial player is the one with the objective of doing something. Instead of just wounding the heroes or delaying them. Don't get me wrong I like the wounding of heroes part, but it would be fun to see more objective based missions for the Imperial player. Might help with Story Mission balance also.

It would be totally wrong to include some stupid looking generic BH like Dengar only becouse he had a cameo in OT and not iclude characters like Mara Jade.

IMO.

That is your opinion, and really depends on if the company is trying to keep it entirely in canon (with new characters original creations), or are open to Legends (EU) additions.

Personally, I don't hold a candle for the EU like others appear to do. I wouldn't mind EU stuff, but would prefer the model they're currently following; Canon with a splash of original creations.

YMMV

Yeah, I mean, I'm no Star Wars guru by any means, but I have played a lot of the videogames and know a fair bit about it. Not as much as some, certainly not as much as many here, but still, a fair bit.

Even so, my reaction was "who the hell is Dengar?" Then I saw a screenshot and remembered the bit in ESB where for like 0.6 seconds you see some guy in a headscarf as Vader walks past. Yeah... you know what, he's really not a big deal. Are some of the novels about him, or something? Because otherwise I genuinely have no idea how most people would be expected to know who he is.

Whereas Mara Jade, well, OK, Disney have declared all that stuff isn't canon, alright, fair enough, and I can understand why they've done that, but at least people who aren't total Star Wars obsessives (and don't think for one moment I'm suggesting there's anything wrong with that, if you are! I just have other things I obsess about) have a non-zero chance of having heard of her, if they've done anything with Star Wars beyond watching the movies.

I wouldn't mind EU Legends characters if it makes sense to the Campaign. They already use some characters from the EU for the X-Wing game.

Mara would be awesome but, unlike most EU characters, she (and assorted children) are (probably) totally incompatible with the upcoming movies. I'm sure someone will house-rule her though (I'll try if no-one else wants to but I only know the character from wookiepedia).

Dengar also got screen time in the clone wars tv series, which is still Canon.

I'd love to see a few of the EU characters and concepts get some love, the EU was hit and miss but there is plenty of good stuff that can be used.

Jabba's Palace! Slave Leia, Jabba, Rancor, Gammoreans, sneaky Lando, Bib Fortuna, etc, etc The Skiff, Sarlaccs pit....

There is no issue here as long as we stick to the rebellion era. She is Imperial in X-Wing, she should be Imperial here. Her future is less significant..

Are HKs in the new official canon?
