It's interesting to look into a list that could make quick work of the Soontir / Chiraneau build... - You need something that is designed to hit Fel through everything he has, and something with a lot of guns to take on chiranaeu...

Oicun + Gunner, Vader, Intel Agent and Determination - might be one such list.
shoot and hit, and you do damage, then Vader - shoot and miss, and you do vader, and shoot again, and either hit, or vader again - likely putting Fel / whisper in a bad position. And you're definitely surviving the first engagement against a two ship list with that boat. Additionally, you can try and ram Fel quite quickly - and barrel roll ties to block him with the IA -
The opponent would be wise to keep fel back and out of range of the decimator - while 4 ties and the decimator is 5 guns blazing away at it - with ties trying to keep the Engine Chiranaeu from escaping. Start Analysing the weaknesses of the 4 academy and decimator counter and compare the number of counters it has...
Another counter may be in the form of feedback array, 5 binyare's with feedback, and torkhil with an Ion turret, feedback array and engine upgrade - has a good chance at just popping fel, maybe even before he can shoot. Fel will have to fight at a distance, and not be ioned by mux... Meanwhile, Chiranaeu will have to face 6 ships firing at him, before he gets to fire - Mux is target #1 , but those binayre pirates can form a force bubble of damage around Fel's approaches to Mux... it's a neat gamble - I like it better than 7 feedback arrays -
I killed off Chiraneau & Soontir every time I have faced them with my BBBBZ list.
Focus on the Decimator, and kill it fast - which is no big problem with 15 red dice - and then Soontir is alone to dance with several Bs....

I agree with the above posters in that Chiraneau is not hard to kill. You can fly like an ace and make it more difficult but the defense is just not there and make one wrong move and you are eating lucky dice rolls like a shot gun blast to the face. I love my decimator but it always ends up being a meat shield because there is almost no way to mitigate bad crit rolls when your shields are done and it doesn't get near enough of those. I'd be much happier with the ship if it had like 30% less hull and that all went to shields instead. Now Fel is a champion but must be flown as the champion he is, think of him like a scalpel, you pick your tragets and position yourself to make specific strikes. Go in boldly and you will die in a fireball quicker than you can say oh ****!

if you want to mitigate crits, you have to start chucking crew members out the airlock

Triggering PtL on the Evade from Isard for a boost *guarantees* that you're getting that boost action last regardless of Pilot Skill (since it's in the Combat Phase).
This gives you the king of arc dodgers paired with a big base that's taking points from the same page. The pair of them focus on any Turrets first and past that they both become stupidly hard to pin down.
Can you explain this part? What's the action sequence here? In action phase you can choose TL. Focus or Boost, then PtL, finally you could use Isard but since you have Stress from PtL... What am I missing?
In your action phase you pick 1 action. PtL isn't limited to the action phase so in the Combat phase when Isard gives you the evade, you Push the Limit for a second action (boost)

If you put predator on RAC his hit probabilities are:

I'm not the best with statistics so the numbers are from simulation and not exact. They also don't include crit effects.
To me he has sufficient damage without taking actions, therefore you can boost out of arc with minimal penalty. (The worst would be boosting so you have to take a range 3 shot.)
Also with gunner he has a very good chance of stripping tokens off anything without autothrusters.

The best one is To use Isard for Experimental interface, and aexpose with that. Granted Engine Upgrade is better on Chippy but it's **** fun to throw 5 dice at someone who thought you had no action!
