Hand to hand combat

By SchenTheRodian, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

If the character is using a melee weapon that says "+1" or "+3" or whatever, you add Brawn and successes. If it just has a straight damage listing (like the cattle prod thing from Far Horizons) you just add successes like with a blaster.

Okay so I got this... For example vibroknife would be 3dmg+ his brawn (4)+ plus the amount of successes he rolls.

Is this the same for ranged? Weapon damage + agility + number of successes?

How do melee weapons work then?

Ranged weapons: Weapon Base Damage +# uncancelled successes (+ talents) - Soak

Example: Blaster Pistol (damage 6) with 3 uncancelled successes against a target with Soak 3 = 6 damage.

Note: Agility is not added to damage for ranged weapons.

Melee/brawl weapons: Weapon Base Damage + Brawn +# uncancelled successes (+ talents) - Soak

Example: Brass knuckles (damage +1) or Combat knife (damage +1), Brawn 3 with 3 uncancelled successes against a target with Soak 3 = 4 damage.

Brawl/unarmed: Brawn +# uncancelled successes (+ talents) - Soak

Example: Brawn 3 + 3 uncancelled successes against a target with Soak 3 = 3 damage.

  • Ranged attacks do not add agility to damage. Basic damage is weapon damage + uncanceled successes.
