I of course have to have everything much to my wife's shagrine. But if I had to choose I would have went with Serena for sure, just for my games completeness.
Which 2 did you get?
Serena. Also Forgotten Souls. Was just a bit surprised to see Dark Elements. It's still supposed to be "In Production". Not that I mind it was available to buy. I also picked up Valindra over the weekend too. Easily one of the largest figures in the game. At first I thought she was broken, but she just came with some assembly required.
Co-Op looks interesting. Can't wait to try it out. Would have preferred not having to print out the rules.
Tablet
But it is super fun. especially to play by yourself. Its great for testing out characters and classes without playing entire campaigns. You will enjoy it.
Started a game up today. It's pretty challenging. I have Reynhart as Champion, Serena as Disciple, Jain as Wildlander ane Leoric as Runemaster. Managed to level the heroes up early as I drew the first main encounter right after the starting one. Have had an ungodly number of misses though and Serena got Koed once. Jain has been diseased ever since the starting fight and it was finally removed by a leveled up Serena. But I have managed ( so far) to win every encounter. Probably not going to win Trash Heap tho... with the way I moved into the room and the Dragons moved, they are completely covering up the Search tokens. Only way I can search for them all at this point is to kill one dragon, but I don't think it's gonna happen.
I think I will challenge myself. I can't buy any other Co-ops until I beat the one the current one.

I'm doing the same. I'm not playing the others until I beat the first one. Its pretty hard. The fog filled room hurts me every time.
Zombies? Went through it easy. Unfortunately a fate card advanced Doom. One question. When a monster is directed to attack an adjacent hero, but there is more then one viable. target, which hero is targeted?

I always end up with the zombies bunched up and they get +3 armour. I might need some pierce before I get in there. Ya tough to do that one without advancing the doom.
If targets are equal distance you get to choose.
Well, I lost. It was a Peril Card that had advanced Doom... I had no choice in that. There was this chain of Fates { no exploration card}, instant monster activation and then subsequent monster activation that did me in. Made it to Second Main Encounter at least. I'll try again soon.
*sigh* This was at least the sixth attempt.
Get into Room of Souls. Manage to clear out all Flesh Moulders and grab cauldron by turn two.
-Spawn two flesh Moulders.
-Draw Monster activation Card. Room of Souls special- Attack Target hero carrying the cauldron.
Tomble had the cauldron. Has 2 Grey Die and one Brown off Serena's PoH.
Flesh Moulder rolls 3 and surge. Roll 3 Shield.
Cracks Cauldron.
Reset game.
It is very hard, but fun for me as I'm usually the OL. This gives me a chance to explore heroes more in depth.
Anyone play the other 2 and are they just as hard?
And... the cauldron, i believe, is a mimic and cracks no matter what, lol
I have managed to complete it once now, without cracking the cauldron
But that was only because if got the Elven boots or whatever, that gave me one extra movement point at the start of my turn.
Strategy for Room of Souls:
By Monster Turn 1 - Kill at least one minion Flesh Moulder in the direct path of the cauldron.
By Monster Turn2- Have Hero pick up Cauldron during a Move action. Have Hero use a second move action to move one space.
By Monster Turn 3- Have hero spend one action to move 1 Space. Spend second action to destroy Cauldron. Usually works.
What makes this hard is how quick Fatigue tokens build up and how fast Peril cards and the stage can move the fate and doom tokens. If a hero gets Koed you might as well forget it.
I always try to have my last hero never be the one to open any door if it might be a numbered encounter. that maximizes hero turns before the timer is done.
Well, any door could be a numbered encounter, unless you just did one.
Like I mentioned in the forgotten souls post, 2 out of the 3 times I've played so far I drew the Room of Souls right after The Onset. (Which means you can forget about one of those turns.)
And since I don't seem to be able to clear The Onset in one turn (and you only get 2 turns to complete it) I always end up with opening the door on one of the last heroes' turn.
It's either that or suffer Fate + Peril card because there is no active exploration card. Or are you suggesting that is the better option in that case?
Last time we did that we all rested before opening the door, we got a peril card that gave us all 3 fatigue (or something like that) again..
Edited by Atom4geVampireI do prefer to suffer fate/peril in those cases, especially since a victory in a numbered encounter will refresh said fate.
Well I beat it yesterday, but not without forcing myself to re-roll some critical misses. (And there were quite a few.) I figured I've played through enough times that I was not going to allow the dice to screw me over again, which they wholeheartedly try to do repeatedly. I probably would have lost if not for that. Regardless...
Syndreal as Knight, Quellen as Runemaster, Tomble as Thief and Avric as Disciple. These heroes worked really well. Tomble's Sneaky ability allowed him to open doors without using actions and also allowed him to get a preemptive heart on any monsters who spawned in the encounter. Avric kept the party healed mostly, Syndreal's Inspiration ability and Quellen's hero Ability kept Fatigue down, more so Quellen could get those high powered attacks going. He was able to blast away groups at a time and was soloing Tharn at the end.
Like I said, still had some crappy dice rolls. Imagine a monster rolling 4 hearts and a Surge against Toble, him having Avric next to him, so He's rolling 2 grey, one black and a brown and only rolling 3 Shield. I had Avric equipped with the Mace of kellos and still could only usually manage one or two hearts or a miss. I probably would have still bloody lost if it hadn't been for Syndreal's Inspiration ability, which was able to restore one Fatigue back to Tomble. He had to use his Greedy ability to search the last token in Trash Heap, or Fate would have met Doom.
Trash Heap is the encounter I hate the most. The Lengthy Sewers almost did me in as well. I had to go through the whole deck. The Last encounter was the very last card. And yes, just my luck, the very first objective token taken in Treasure Vault was the green one. Anyway, yay, I won.
lol cheater!
I've never done that....
Edited by KAGE13Yeah, forgive me, but I actually wanted to play the ending room.
