SO My day ended with a nice game of X-wing with my 6 year old son(he is the one in the blue shirt). He loves this game but at times gets frustrated because he has a hard time beating daddy. Well today we tried out a new list for him.

Above Is deployment. With his stuff in a line Left to right is B X X Z Z Z and the BroBots in the other corner.

First Movements see 1 IG get in range of the B-Wing and take off 1 shield.

Second Round Sees the B-wing Bite the dust and All the rest of his stuff fires at 88B but nothing gets thru.

Here is where things go very wrong for me. I strip the shields from one X-wing and in return he take 88D from full health to 1 hull remaining. A solid mix of i boo booed my movement and rolled like crap and he did his moves rights and rolled like a God.

88D Goes down but not before taking an X-wing with him.

Take out 1 Z and his X-wing ticked that i shot down his friend Takes all 4 shields from 88B in one shot.

88B Loses 2 hull 1 from the rock and the other from the X-wing.

And the Bot goes Boom From the Z-95.

So i Lost to my six year old and i must say it was the happiest i have ever been losing. He shook my hand told me good game Daddy gave me a big grin and Yelled across the house MOMMY I BEAT DADDY. So while i lost i still won because my son was and still is quite ecstatic about his win.

I play with my nearly 7 year old and have since last year. He got really good over the summer, even getting a 2nd place at a casual tournament (I was 3rd, my best finish yet...) He even crushed one of the guys that went undefeated at the Canadian nationals, making him reconsider who he'd fly with RAC (Maarek out, Soontir in).

With school starting up, what with having to learn to read, a second language, and everything else, his focus vanished. Which means he ended our local league 1-7. He took it hard, very hard. He was sure he'd only go up from there.

We've been working at just playing for fun again, getting in the mindset that the 2 important things are having fun and learning. We'll get there!

Keep on playing with the next generation, it's amazingly fun! Though going to tourney is twice as expensive now... Good thing he's crazy lucky with participation prize drawings!
