I've read that this can work. Decimator is a good anchor. It seems that the only difference is what upgrades/pilot you take and how many ships fly with it.
it works, though the more popular version ditches Ysard (Deci is a suicide boat, anyway) and Oicuun for patrol leader (again, suicide boat) for the stabber of backs or obsidians
I personally find it intolerably dull, but anything + mini-swarm tends to perform well and there is no harder counter for the hyper agility that gives 2-dice tie fits than the vadermator

why you use EU rather that Ysard?

Ysard doesn't work if you are stressed and can't clear it. Ysard only stops 1 damage. Engine upgrade lets you dictate range and possibly dodge firing arcs. That stops a lot more damage over the course of a game, or at the very least sets you up for the engagement ranges on your terms (being closer when less ships have you in arc so you deal more damage, or farther away when there are potentially more shots coming your way).
I think it's a great list. Eu helps if you are skilled with it but ysard is always worth her points. Have you considered dropping the swarm for two RG's with ptl?

In a tournament, how would you fly this?
Maybe focus fire with the TIEs and block the killer big ships while flying the Decimator out far until all the the TIEs die, then come in at Range 1 with it? Or.....?
I'd use the TIEs to hem in or block the target(s), then depending on the enemy ship type. I'd roll in Big-O.
