Just one. I have 1 CR-90 as well. I'm assuming it will be 3 epic points so only 1 will be supported for epic play.

Because I want it! Looking forward to the TIE Advanced fix, too.

It might be nice, but as a customer that still doesn't justify that im only able to buy it with an epic ship for a huge pricetag.

I'm buying a oddly expensive alt paint Advanced with some equally oddly expensive cards.

I have heard a rumour ffg are putting a free "huge ship" thing.

That last thing is just a rumour though.

My goal is to buy 0. I only want the TIE advanced stuff, so I'm either going to split it with someone locally or put the epic stuff up on eBay.

Getting? One.

I thought the argument in that thread was that you were being "entitled" because you were supporting the idea that players can print their own cards from expansions they've not purchased and legally use them in FFG tournament play.

For my Vampire Counts army I have more than 800 models. Do the math for how much it would cost to buy 800 ships for X Wing and get back to me.

And the kicker? I can apply the rules for my 800 models any number of times. I don't need to buy a new model each time I want to add a rule to a different model.

Bundling valuable upgrade cards into expensive ship 'expansion packs' purely as a way to drive sales is a **** move. It is totally unreasonable to expect a consumer to buy a Ferrari so they can get a spare wheel for their Ford.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bundling upgrade cards into expensive models just to drive sales is a **** move. That's not me being 'entitled', that's just a statement of fact.

Then do what kraedin suggests and buy what you want piecemeal on eBay.

And, to be clear, I'm not intending to give you a hard time. I'm a salaried employee using my college degree (for what it's {financially} worth, grumble grumble...) every day, and I've been saving my cash for the Raider since January 'cause I want it, and I live on a written budget so I can tell my money where to go. X-wing is only as expensive of a hobby as one makes it.

I sympathise with Caine HoA because I don't have the tools or skills to give my Advanced such a nice paint job, but I see that as a bonus to buying the Raider, not the primary motivator for doing so (as Spider satirically pointed out).

I'm buying one, because I want...everything about it. I want to try epic play as the Empire restores order and stability with a powerful, huge, ship. I want that gorgeous model. I want arrogant officers striding the main deck, occasionally casting a worried glance over one shoulder as Palpatine judges their performance in battle. I want batteries of guns to fire on irritating terrorist ships.

I also want Darth Vader to strike fear into the heart of the enemy fleet when his Advanced is deployed, and I want Juno Eclipse to pull crazy shenanigans in the cockpit, and I want the TIE Advanced to be more intimidating than the basic TIE fighter.

I want the whole package. Big ship, little ships, upgrades, you name it. Gimme, gimme, gimme.

I must have it to complete my empire fleet. I only need a lamda and slave 1 and I will have 1 of everything empire in the current mix. That being said, it will be a purchase far down the road as epic games are never played in this area and $90 for a shelf model and second advance is insane. So definately will get a single but after everything else first.

I'm getting one because they are expensive and it just so happens that I won enough store credit that I can basically just pick it up at leisure without destroying my wallet. I still need the Tantive IV to complete the collection, but I generally just run a transport during Epic play with as many X-wings as I can fit so it's not a priority. The Imperials need a Capital ship though. Especially one as menacing as the Raider.

Get 1. I see no reason for 2 yet. Perhaps if epic play goes wild from now on. But even then ...

I'd rather wait for a smallisher support ship then buing another Raider now.

I like the design very much, and also that they add it to Armada. Furthermore the Tie Advance fix is nice...

I preordered one. It was hard to not order two, but there was no need. Instead I added a second starviper and aggressor to my order for free shipping. So now I am impatient for the raider to drop so I can have all ships I paid for. :-)

Okay... on a serious note, I think i'm going to pick up 1 off Ebay, maybe 2. I couldn't see running 3 naked Raiders in an epic game, I think it would be more harm than good.

I will purchase 1 of every Huge ship. I don't have the funds to purchase more than that and have held off on getting them as I hadn't gotten into Epic games yet. Just played my first real Epic game yesterday, we didn't time it because it was just for fun. It was an all-day game and it had to be cut short. Super fun and now I'm more interested in buying some Huge ships.

*EDIT* Also, I want the TIE Advanced X1 Title, the extra TIE Advanced and all the other cards that come with it.

I can just imagine it now... A 4x10 board with 4 Raiders, a half dozen of Patrol Leaders as a picket line, a screen of two dozen Academy TIEs and Interceptors, a lone Phantom lurking along the edge, two TIE Advanceds managing the fighters and a quartet of HLC Defenders, all of whom are prepping for a flight of 8 K-Wings, 8 B-Wings, 8 Y-Wings that are loaded to he teeth and two dozen X-Wings and A-Wings preparing to break the line of Raiders for their CR-90 and two Gr-75s that are escorted by two E-Wings each to escape to Hyperspace at the end of the table....

The price on Amazon spiked 50 cents from yesterday. Mini's Market will likely be out of them before the Raider launch so I just bought two at $12 each Prime. Now I can score another S&V to get free shipping from MM. Dang, now I need a bigger tackle box.

But then there's people like me who plan on getting 3. Simple answer? Because I can.

Not simple answer? I want one to stand stock, un-modified, the glory of the Galactic Empire right out of the box as is. My second one will be to get another TIE Advanced repaint and another Raider to paint decloaking with nice chrome finishes between the lightning-esque process. And the third one, honestly, I plan on picking it up from someone chucking the Raider on its own because they only want the Advanced fixes and I know I might be able to score a Raider model for maybe $50-60, that one will probably be fashioned with the Bloodstripe to go along with Soontir and friends.

So, how many are you buying? Why are you buying them? And if you plan on chucking the Raider after getting the Advanced fixes and pilots, why are you so cold blooded and unloving to your plastic crack?

I doubt anyone else is buying more that one because you can't use more than one. We also all realised Hobojebus was joking when he posted fake Huge Ship Cloaking rules in the Stealth Release article.

I didn't even know that was a joke! I just wanted to paint one decloaking the day I saw it because it would look awesome.

The Armada ones might be a cheaper route if you're just going for display pieces.
