Eh it's the first wave, there's only 9 generic units in the game and empire has 5 of them (6 if you count the AT-ST I guess), not surprising there's more potential for spammable lists on the Empire.

Does anyone happen to know the results of the two regionals that took place yesterday (5/23)?
Rebels won one and you will find out on the iacommand podcast tuesday.
Brian V was 4-0 but left before the final 4 cut at the other and he had beat everyone else in the final four cut. He wanted to go home. Everyone that we know that went to that regional left before the cut.
Sorry, don't listen to podcasts.. look forward to it being posted at some point though.
Just out of curiosity, how did they handle the person who dropped. Did they put the next player in the top group, or did the person he would have played get an auto win in single elimination?
What about prizes... dice bags go to top 4. Did they give them to the top 4 who played (assuming the reseeded), or to the original top 4 even if they didn't all play?
Edited by El_TonioThe regional at Epic Loot was won by a rebel list
Luke Skywalker
Jyn
Gideon
Gaarkhan
Rebel Sab Elite x 2
I made a few mistakes against him in the finals, I let him score three holocrons and he was able to kill enough of my guys to get forty points, I should have picked up one of them but totally didn't understand the importance of getting them.
We had 10 people show, cut to top four and Brian left as he wasn't feeling well.
All and all a good time was had by all I believe and since I cannot go to gencon (I thought first also go another alternate art card) I'm glad I didn't take that chance away from someone who can use it.

There were 10 players with a cut to Top 4.
I made a dumb mistake in round 4, which kept me from entering Top 4 at the Florida Regional.
Got way too confident about Weiss defense, didn't take into account that Royal Guard hit a lot harder than troopers. Weiss died in Round 1 because I thought it would be smart to have him hang out on the control panels for "Get to the Ship!" I still nearly beat my opponent with Stormtroopers and Officers, but losing Weiss so early was severely detrimental.
Round 2 I also lost because my opponent was able to pick up the crates in "Smuggled Goods" very quickly. I was more concerned with killing enemy figures than running the goods to my spawn. I knew my squad had a weakness on this mission because nobody's speed was above 4, but I still should have actually tried to get the crates. Fastest loss I've ever experienced.
Edited by Xero AnarianI look forward to the Mos Eisley Outskirts map being rotated out... one side has a noticeable advantage (especially for the smuggled goods scenario).

I disagree I think both sides are good for the right squads. A lot of people like the inside and I like the outside most the time. Also people that take the inside make the mistake of going for the middle when the outside player has really good los to that spot. The crates just cost way too much though.

Good point. I agree the cost of the crates is a key problem (but, that is still a problem with the scenario).
But, the fact is with the cost of the crates being what they are, any squad would be well advised to take the outside area in the smuggled goods scenario. Don't take it vs. a good player a few times and see what happens (you'll quickly find yourself down 15-30 points at the end of round 1, especially if they are playing imperials).

I like the inside deployment because you have no obstructions to a crate whereas the outside person has a door to access the same crate. I usually don't go for the middle crate because I know my opponent will probably make a run for it, and just concentrate on getting the other two.
I find it is easier to get the crate by the door from the outside, too (it is actually closer to the outside zone than the inside zone). I can usually beat my opponent to it, and the only one that I sometimes have to fight for is the inside one not by the door. Really the inside may be able to get one, the outside can usually get two (and sometimes all three).
NJ Regional was won today. 9 players Top 4.
Build was Vader, Guards, Stormtroopers, Officer x4.
Thier Order ability may be balanced for Campaign but it needs to grant a set amount (2-3) in Skirmish as a full move just is problematic in a number of scenarios.

Yep, the Top 4 lists in the NJ Regional were 3 Imperial and 1 Rebel.
1st Place: Vader, Guards, STs, Officer x4 (this was the only list with Vader in the event)
2nd Place: Elite E-Web x2, Reg E-Web x2, Guards, Officer x3 (or something...HUGE damage output here!)
3rd Place: Elite Sab x2, Jyn, Gideon, Elite Trooper x2
4th Place: Elite Guards, Guards, Probe x2, Elite Probe, Officers x3 (or something)
I brought my boys along (10 & 11 yrs old) and they had a BLAST!! On the way home, they were saying, "Man, we're definitely going back there again next year!" Scott (the TO) and all the rest of the players were class acts all the way, and they were very encouraging and friendly with my sons, which I am very grateful for. Thanks guys!
I came in second at NJ today. I had a really solid run and saw some interesting lists. Here's my list.
Elite E-Web x2
Regular E-Web x2
Royal Guard
Regular Officer x2
It is a very beefy, potent list that has little issue with straight up ignoring most objectives, or punishing those who go after objectives. I played Get to the Ship just before the final cut. I never got to the ship, but there sure were a lot of bodies around it. Good day, all in all.
Edited by PlayerNineany info about the Boise regional?
The FFG Regional in MN had 15 player. There was a bye each of the 4 rounds and then cut to top 4.
