MC30s & IMP Raiders: How many will you buy?

By R22, in Star Wars: Armada

I have a hard time seeing the Imps with a ton of mini ships so I'm curious if people will play them despite the Empires rather Napoleonic military themes...

And the MC30, will you have more of them than Neb-Bs? Because I feel like they were far more prevalent in Rebel fleets than the MC30 which was just in the PC game.

Just a guess based on their... well, base, the MC30s seem like more well rounded cruisers on-par with Gladiators. I feel safer with them... the Nebulons kind of feel a bit fragile with their wide side arcs, 1 shield, and no redirects.

Assuming Raiders are anything like the CR90s, it'll be nice to have an imperial flanker. Gladiators seem a bit too pricey to use as throwaway units, and Raiders would fill that role better instead. Also throwing two dice on the defene means they can serve as screening ships a lot cheaper than the Gladiators would.

I really wish the Nebs were just a tad hardier. They're classic Rebel ships for me but I think you're right that they'll be pushed out by less known ships with better stats.

I Well be fielding many MC30's. The fact that they can take on a VSD makes them so good!

I have had my X-Wing-scale Raider on order since December.

For Armada, I'm debating one (initially) or to just go ahead and order two, alongside my Imperial-class. It's going to be really nice to have the Raider-class to swat those pesky rebel squadrons.

I'll probably start with 3 of each.

Probably 2 of each for me, might consider going for three depending on how larger scale games will be playable

2 of each for me. I'll be trying to taked mixed fleets, so 2 of one type is enough I think.

Two of each to start.

None, though I might use a pair of lancer models instead of the raider. The raider model just doesn't do it for me.

I'll start with one as I'd like to use it to screen the larger ships or chase down squadrons. Once I see how it does I'll prolli order 2 more for a total of 3.

Two Raiders.

One MC30 and Two Raiders

Two of the MC30's, but even as a nearly exclusive Rebel player? I'm really tempted to get a Raider. It's just so cute~ :3

Need to see Wave 1 and how that works out first...

at 1 anti-squadron die and 1 squadron value, the Neb is still far more effective at supporting squadrons than the MC30c

Most likely 2 of each with a third likely after a little play testing

I will be interested in them. Rather than competing with the larger ships, it might be fun to combine them. How would VSD + Glad + 2 Raiders perform? The variety would certainly encourage the selection of some different objectives.

One of each, but only after picking up one of each of the big boys in the Wave.

If its of any consolation, MC30 will or may fit the role of heavy cruiser (CA) just like the GSD while the Raiders would fit into the destroyer (DD) class.

VSD and RAF would fit the battlecruiser class.

I might get 2 of MC30 and GSD since depending on my mood, I might just assemble a CA centric flotilla

Since I'm not a fan of ships with short ranges, probably only 1 of each for the cards.

I am certainly getting at least one of each of Wave 2. From what I'm seeing so far, all four of those ships are solid, so I may get more.

As many as it takes. ;)

Raiders look like they get 8 shields and have strong front arc. I think they will be excellent to use just need point cost.

I'll be buying two of the Raiders.

I'm thinking 2 of each, maybe more if I really like them.
