No named pilot games.

Got a friendly tournament coming up and wanted to get how others would build a squad using these restrictions. I have a good idea on what I want to use,but I want to hold off and see what others think is a good strategy. What would you consider a good solid build.

Special rules :

1: no unique pilots

2: no unique upgrade cards

3: no faction restrictions

4: no more than 1 of any ship type.

A wild idea. You MUST choose one and only ship from each faction. At least, it is a diferent way to play.

Agressor, protect that A !!!

With such restrictions i think the Shadow Phantom with VI and the usual upgrades is a strong pick. I don't think a lot of ppl will invest in VI so a pilot skill of 7 should mostly go first.

Then add whatever you like to it :-D

I agree that the shadow squadron is a solid choice, but it can't take VI. It's stuck with a 5.

The M3-A can get pushed to a 7 and the scum fire spray can be make a 7. then the royal guard can be made an 8 but is that worth it at the cost of not having PTL?

The list I think I want to take is.

Patrol Leader [Weapons Engineer ] (43)

Royal Guard Pilot [Push the Limit] (25)

Shadow Squadron Pilot [intelligence Agent, Advanced Cloaking Device] (32)

I'm stuck on what is a better choice, the patrol leader or the scum fire spray with HLC and VI for the same points. Problem is I don't own a fire spray. I'd also like to put gunner on the patrol leader, but I'm short one point when removing WEng and IA.

The alternative list would be.

Royal Guard Pilot [Push the Limit] (25)

Shadow Squadron Pilot [Recon Specialist, Fire-Control System, Advanced Cloaking Device] (36)

Omicron Group Pilot [Fire-Control System, Heavy Laser Cannon, Gunner, Engine Upgrade] (39)

but I feel this puts too many points into the cow.

Anyone got a better combo? Or what do you think would be fun in this scenario. as always FUN > WINNING

We actually ran a mixed faction game at the store last night, though we didn't limit unique pilots and upgrade cards (but you couldn't cross-faction limited upgrades). It was intended to be a tournament, but we only had 3 players so we did a 150-point-each 3-way furball. It was fun!

Two of us had all three factions in the same list.

I'll tell you what was scary -- facing down 3 x Sigmas plus Biggs (and some TIEs filling out to 150). This swarm took a Decimator out in one round.

Alphabet Soup:

Green Squadron Pilot (19)

Push the Limit (3)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

Rookie Pilot (21)

Gold Squadron Pilot (18)

Ion Cannon Turret (5)

BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
