What do you think to my 2 x Int 1 x OGP build?

The idea being to Ion when needed, or use primary if it's the better shot. I'm a good squint flyer and they'll be looking to take advantage of flanks and Ion'd ships. Comments?

IMO ion cannon is wasted on a shuttle. You are going to want to shoot at whoever you can get in arc which may or may not be a good target for an ion. Your squints don't need to rely on an ion to get their targets.

To maximize damage when the shuttle does have a target, I would swap both stealth devices on the Interceptors for Targeting Comp, lose the on cannon and grab gunner. Works well with FCS.

ion does seem a bit misplaced but its not bad. tactician or rebel captive could be nice as well. if u went with tactician you would have an extra point to take intel agent as well (useful for predicting whether ur intercepters will boost of barrel roll vs other high PS ships)

I like advanced sensors and EU together on omicron as it has better movement options by being able to bank boost and then reveal its movement dial making it a better blocker as well as letting it move into a collision situation and still keep its action. FCS is not bad, i just prefer Adv. sensors is all.

Pogie has suggested gunner +FCS and this is going to give you much better firepower but also make ur shuttle more of a target. depends how you intend to use it really. 1) hyper mobile blocker/jouster 2) med range stressgiver 3) buzzsaw combatant.

The Ion cannon is situational to be sure, but is pretty cheap at 3 points. I didn't want to go the gunner route as it marks the shuttle as a kill first target. Whenever I've played lists like this people ignore the shuttle, to their peril.

I like having the stealths because Interceptors are very squishy. I've been frustrated in the past by bad roles though and it's such a hard call to make between stealth and TC. I'm thinking I may drop stealth on soontir, give him TC and and change the Ion cannon to a mangler.

I don't know why anyone would ignore a shuttle in favour of shooting an interceptor, unless you block it and have a bunch of guns on it of course. But in general, shuttles are easier to kill.

Mangler is not worth it on a shuttle, imo. Everyone loves stealth on their interceptors these days, although I still think its a meh choice - it only helps you against the sort of things the interceptor is already good at evading (small numbers of 2 or 3 attack shots). It doesn't make 4 attack dice any easier, and doesn't help against gunner or other focussed fire. It also doesn't help against mines, bombs, vader, auto hits/crits (autoblaster/Ten Numb) and so forth. But if it makes you feel better, go for it! :P

Personally, I'd rather just run a 3rd interceptor, but if you like the shuttle, perhaps Tactician, rebel captive or even Vader would be worth considering in place of that ion cannon...
