Question about co-op adventures

By leewroy, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi!

Finally I've got the main game delivered...was a long wait. The box is really heavy and compressed :)

Well, before I put my question, I have some, minor: my Leoric cames crippled...he lost the hand with the book :(

Not a big issue, cause I found it in the bottom of the plastic bag and could fix it with a small amount of glue. But this thing made me think about something.

What if the miniature was really broken, or the box have missed content, like cards or minis? Would FFG replace it? Anyone had a similar issue?

Ok. About the co-op adventures, I'm realy interested. I'm not in the mood to be 'overlording' all the time and nobody else wants too. So, seems to be a nice option for us soon. I'd like to know what is needed to play these campaigns. Just the main game will do the job, or I really NEED one or more expansions to start?

Thansk in advance!

FFG sent me all the mini cards for free because I lost them.

FFG have a great service regarding replacement parts. They have a link on their main page somewhere where you fill in an online form and attach a pic of the faulty parts. They replaced one of my malformed barghests with no issues or questions. Paid delivery to Ireland too which I wasn't expecting. I was well impressed.

Regarding coop expansions; they're nice additions to play without an overlord but are quite limited in their replayability. They're designed to be played in a single session; like a larger single quest, and do include a nice exploration mechanic where you don't know what's coming after each room as new tiles are placed based on a random card draw.

However, once you've played through it two or three times you've pretty much seen everything. They are challenging, but limited.

They are nice if you're looking for something fresh in Descent, but by no means a full replacement to the overlord in the base game.

Overlord can be fun too though :)

Well, considering the quality of FF I'm not surprised about the support. :)

So,I'd like to know if the co-op quests needs material like tiles, monsters, and stuff from the expansions or it can be played with the core game only?

Thanks for replying.

Forgotten Souls and Nature's Ire only require the base game.

Is it possible to merge co-op cards together to get more variety?

No, not really. The quests use different monsters, so it doesnt make sense to mix activation cards. Exploration cards also are linked to those other cards, and might use map pieces that are in use from other rooms. The most mixing you could do is combine some of the peril cards that are not monster specific, but that isn't much- the coop adventures are essentially non compatible with each other- but compatible with everything else.

I see. That's good news for start. Thanks to everyone.
