Hey everybody, SirWilli here with one last word before the inevitable end...

I'm so sorry I let you down for so long, the main reason being a shift in my personal life focus. My wife and family needed more time and this meant cutting down on hobby time. A decision that was basically no decision, because family comes first. Always. I hope you understand.

The second reason I kept silent is that even though I felt the urge to continue at a slower pace, when fastwalker came and started to continue my work out of the blue without even asking me if I'd be OK with this, I started to lose motivation even further. He somewhat hijacked this thread and took up the mantle without having a single word with me. Since this whole project has been something like my hobby baby and a work of heart for quite a long time, this felt... wrong. And... never mind, perhaps you can figure yourself, I don't want to get mean.

Sorry @FastWalker , this had to be said. But I'm a forgiving person and really not that resentful therefore I don't impute any base motives to you and will take this as "dumm gelaufen", as we say in germany. But it would have been nice to ask.

And now btt: I actually plan to continue, I just started to sort my X-Wing stuff to get an overview, I have somewhat lost track. I really hope to be able to start again, as mentioned at a slower pace. Since this forum won't be active for very much longer, keep an eye out for updates on my website, follow my facebook account, if you like or subscribe to X-Wing on BGG, where I will drop a note for sure, whenever there will be new stuff.

First, family always comes first. Second, I apologize for intruding. I didn't mean to offend. I started making these boxes because of my OCD. When XWing 2nd edition came out, we had all these new toys to play with. It was great. But, there was this unscratchable itch I couldn't ignore. I needed MicroHangers and Gear Boxes. After six months and 3 waves of waiting, I made the boxes for myself. Two weeks later, I realized others might be in the same boat. So, I shared the files here.

I did reach out to you after the fact. FFG was releasing new ships at a fast rate. I posted if you'd like to coordinate. Some time later, I sent you a message. Not sure if you read them.

Sorry for intruding. As an olive branch, access to the boxes I made have been removed. Now, that you've returned, the community can enjoy your work (which is far superior compared to my own). I look forward seeing updates on your website.

Thanks, @LUZ_TAK , even though I think this is how disputes should be handled. Especially online, where you don't have a human being in front of your eyes ...

And @FastWalker , all fine, thanks for your kind reply, very much appreciate it! And you don't have to take your files down, really, I'm fine with this. Anyway, who knows, maybe once I've managed to complete my own boxes, yours turn out to be better! 😉

At the very least, your response has somewhat increased the pressure on me... But in a positive way!

I lost my job and my house in the middle of the 'Rona and I don't know how I would have managed to move my X-wing and Armada stuff without your boxes.

I'm supremely glad for your efforts and thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

Its no biggie. It'll at least motivate you to work on the new boxes. 😉 Plus, I have to keep the integrity of the olive branch.

Recently, I started using 3D printing to prototype the boxes and make sure the dimensions are correct. Its fun and gives me practice with 3D modeling. Luckily, 3D printing is free to use at my local libraries.

One final note, before this forum is gone: I've just now finished the alpha-design of 32(!) new MicroHangars. No kidding. The layout and graphics are already done, but neither of them has been tested on a real model yet.

I'm currently generating all english and german files, have to check for layout errors (and there will be quite a few) and then I have to test build 32(!) new MicroHangars and hopefully my measuring wasn't too bad. This will take some time, but when I'm satisfied I will upload all of them before turning to 32(!) new GearBoxes...

Armada:
I'd love to, but first problem is hobby time. I really hope to catch up on X-wing sooner or later but I don't know how much time will be left for Armada. Apart from that the (non-prequel) missing ships are sitting shrink-wrapped on my shelf...

Second problem regarding the new prequel sets is that my source for new ships has run dry. Since I don't play Armada I can't justify to buy those expensive ships. Therefore I need to figure out a way the get them, before I can make any promises at all.

I have every ship except my ETAs, V-Wings, and LAAT in your boxes. I absolutely love 'em. Thank you for your time and efforts.
