Is there an ETA for Wave 14 boxes? The T65 and UWing are just new skins with different pilot names so that shouldn't be too bad.

Also, do you have any plans for 2nd Edition? Same boxes with new names? New style? All black like the retail boxes would look nice but my toner cartridge would HATE it!

The only boxes we need to really consider are the medium ship gear boxes.

And the Reaper hangar box.

Actually it's quite bad because of the specs graphics, those are done by hand (I take photos and do some photoshop, annoyingly time consuming...). But I will start as soon as my ships have arrived!

2nd Edition will get all new and rebuild from the ground StatCards to replace the MiniManeuverCards, including a fancy back side. Since FFG dropped the small cards, I will do the same and incorporate some more information that has been banned from the ship tokens. Quite a bunch of them is already done and I think they don't look to bad ?

Black MicroHangars won't happen because of your mentioned toner/cartridge issues. I think I'll only update the logo and the ship names. And of course the two new faction symbols. But that's it, I don't want everybody to print each hangar again to have a unified look, that sucks.

I'm having some doubts about continueing the GearBox system. Thanks to the upgrade kits this would lead to only half filled boxes, since you might ran out of bases. I'm leaning towards a CollectorBox solution for ship tokens and dials (maybe even combine those two) including dividers and a Collector Box for bases/pegs...

Maybe I've been using the Gear Boxes wrong the whole time... I only use them for ship tokens and dials in the small Gear Boxes.

Since I only keep about 8 or so small bases handy for my 60+ ship collection I don't store the sm. plastic bases in the Gear Boxes. Often I can fit two expansions worth in one box (4 ship tokens & 2 dials--refer to image). No half empty boxes here!

For the large ships I tend to include the plastic base along with the ship tokens and dial of a single expansion.

I don't feel the Gear Boxes are in danger of going half used.

Anyone else care to share how they use their boxes?

I dont store the plastic bases in them either - just the dials and base templates.

If 2nd edition still has the little ship icon token for the dial upgrade kits, that could be something that would go in there too.

Also, SirWillibald, I personally don't mind if the pics are dropped from the box if that makes things easier/simpler for you. It's a nice bonus, having the pilots listed but I'm not going to riot if they're not there, you know? The minimum info I think we need is the Faction & ship type on the either boxes.

The work you've done to match FFG's style has been greatly appreciated, by the way. It takes more effort than most people know to design these.

Thanks, that's really nice and you're actually right, it requires a significant effort sometimes. But I'm having fun doing it. And when designing the new StatCards I really tried hard to come up with something that both matches the 2nd Edition design and offers something unique. Can't wait to share...

It's an old pic from another post I made to someone regarding how I build the boxes. The circles show little cuts I make that help "lock" the boxes into place.

Also, I find it difficult (too fiddly) for me to cut curves, so that picture shows my lazy work-around for how I cut the notch and the tabs.

Currently I'm trying my hand at making some 2.0 tokens and like you, I enjoy the work I'm doing, but there's a lot of work that people don't see to get that nice finished design.

Heh. Second Edition is keeping us all busy! I've been working on my data library ( http://xhud.sirjorj.com/xwing.cgi ). Once that is done, I can start on the new version of my overlay generator.

Do you have any interest in adding Fallout to your list of supported games? I have the game and would love to make boxes for it. I found on your FAQ how to make them so I could probably figure it out myself, but if you want to make some, I'd be happy to work with you.

No, sorry, since I don't have enough time for my current projects I don't see me supporting yet another game that I don't even own. Feel free to give it a shot on your own, it's not that difficult! ?

@SirWillibald I don't think I understand what you were saying about the gear boxes for second edition. I know they have transformed my first edition collection from utter chaos into something resembling order. What changes are they making that would make the gear boxes not work the same?

Worried about that, too (concerning GearBoxes)

The other thing was that I always use the GearBoxes to store base, peg, dial and tokens. This can't be done with the upgrade packs (if you don't have enough old bases) and therefore I thought about switching to CollectorBoxes.

But as I've learned above, I know nothing, Jon Willibald, and not everybody is using them that way. And I get the feeling that you'd like me to continue the GearBoxes. Will certainly keep that in mind when finally deciding their fate. ?

For anyone interested, if you haven't picked up the new expansions, the new dial is just over 50 mm in diameter (50.5 mm) vs. the old dial that measured 44 mm, so the 2nd edition gearboxes would have to change...

Also, the medium base is 60 mm x 54 mm

Hrmpf. Alright, it's new GearBoxes then, sorry. Think I'm going to check the size of the dial upgrade things, maybe this justifies a version that holds the upgraded dials, as well (if its diameter is not too far off).

Any chance the 'full sized damage deck' holder might be early on your 2.0 list? I've enjoyed using the one for the mini-cards, and would love a large one. That said, work what you want to work.

What dials with what expansions are larger? Are you referring to the TIE Reaper/Saw's Renegades?
