Hey all was wondering which ship to pick up next?
Falcon or YT-2400

Yeah but I can only get one at the moment. I'm leaning towards falcon though for the engine upgrade. Unless anyone knows if the YT-2400 cards are better overall?
Edited by BabelfishWhat do yo like the look of? Buy that one. Dont buy it because it 2.1 per cent more effective on someones spreadsheet.
If you really cant decide, flip a coin. if you dont like the result of the coin toss... you didnt want to buy that one.
I say this because if you like a ships looks you will fly it whether its good or bad, regardless of its abilities. If you think it looks toss but play it anyway then, fair enough but i dont know many people that say play warhammer and choose and army they dont like the look of or the style of 'because it wins GTs'
I dont see why xwing should be any different, play for fun and play with the ship that feels themost star wars to you.

If you're planning on having both anyway down the line, then it doesn't matter really.
Since it's my favorite ship (from the movies and for this game), the Millenium Falcon would be my first pick. It also happens to include my favorite pilot for this game: Chewbacca. The cards are very good too of course with Luke, Chewie and Nien Nunb crew cards, Draw their Fire, Veteran Instincts, Shield Upgrade (2) and Engine Upgrade (2) being the best/most useful of the lot in my opinion.
The Outrider is excellent also and includes some great cards: Lone Wolf, Stay on Target, Gunner and Lando crew cards, Experimental Interface. Both Dash and Leebo have strong pilot abilities. Even though it has 3 less health than the Falcon, it can be as durable because of its 2 green dice.

OK. So lets forget for a moment you are a Rebel traitor...
Go for what you like better. Simple as that. If you have problem deciding which one you like better. Flip a coin, and if for a heartbeat you feel a regret on the outcome, choose the other ship. ![]()
Decimator!
+1, it is the best Rebel ship in the game!

Don't laugh but in our campaign game my mates rebel fleet captured a TIE advanced intact... he's now able to field it with a home made card in the campaIgn!
If you're a non-proxy type of player take a look at what upgrades and modifications you feel you will get the most mileage from. While it's obvious you want and will eventually have both chances are you won't be only running lists with a YT-1300 or 2400 in every match up. Personally I'd go with the Falcon as it's the more iconic of the two. But I know a few people who find the Outrider the 'cooler' ship. Although they all completed Shadows of the Empire on the highest difficulty.
The Falcon is your traditional fattie. It's the most forgiving ship in the game easily since it can fire regardless of opponent positioning and has access to several upgrades that trigger even if you forfeit actions (c3po & r2-d2 from the cr-90, gunner & luke & chewie from less expensive expansions plus all the named pilot abilities) and just generally will not die.
The YT-2400 is more complex, maneuverable, and position dependent. Without the title, it really cares about its arc. With the title, if you're running an HLC you're going to have a range 1 blindspot to take manage and keep your opponents away from. If you prefer less hand-holding and more time focused on maneuvering rather than just chucking dice, the YT-2400 wins out over its older counterpart (though it can approximate the durability with determination Leebo).
Edited by ficklegreendiceThe 2400 is a more fun and interesting ship to me. It's cards are pretty interesting in general. But engine upgrade makes nearly every other ship you own better!
Both.
Falcon because of Han, Chewie and Lando!
Yeah, just dont even consider a generic 'outer rim smuggler'.
wierdest thing FFG ever did. Possibly the only ship in the game where the pilot directly changes the profile for the worse
I prefer the Outrider in competitive play, but I would recommend the Falcon for a few reasons.
- It's an iconic ship.
- Its named pilots are iconic characters, they are all fun to fly, and they can all compete in the right build.
- It includes Engine Upgrade. Your collection needs Engine Upgrade.
- Though he hasn't shown up that often lately, Han is still one of the best pilots in the game.
I echo what everybody else has been saying. Buy the one that you think you will have the most fun flying.
Or put it this way. If the unthinkable happened and FFG went out of business next month and all the inventory disappeared overnight, which one would regret not having in your collection?
If it was me personally I would take the falcon in a heartbeat, not because of its efficiency or upgrade cards or any of that- that's all secondary- I'd get the falcon because it was in the movies and is a freaking awesome ship. The outrider is very cool, don't get me wrong, but I would never feel that my collection was complete unless I had the falcon in it.
its the Falcon. There is only one choice.
Seriously....you show the game to a new player, convincing them to play.
"I want to fly the Millenium Falcon!"
"well....here's something thats like the falcon, but its just as good...really, believe me!"
Falcon helps your collection out much more with veteran instincts and engine upgrade. Yt2400 is only useful for playing it, and it takes more getting used to to fly properly than the falcon does.
With the Falcon being the only source of Engine Upgrade for the next few months the choice is easy.

I sort of understood the reasoning by binding the stat increase to the pilot instead of the title. The pilot stats are also on the tile that is on the base and trying to keep track of all those stat changes might be overwhelming.

Have you tried fielding 3 YT-1300's? They lessened the shields/hull for balance.
You clearly need them both, you should buy the Falcon first. Han gets bought first after all. Unless you come to your senses and buy a Decimator. The Deci is pure win. Easily the most fun in the game with Oicunn and is self contained for upgrades.
Do you have C-3P0?
- If yes then YT-1300
- If no then YT-2400

You really don't need c3po
He's easily the best, most infuriating/idiotic defensive upgrade ever made,
But
The named yts aren't tie advance; they won't fail horribly without him.
2/3rds of easily the most forgiving and carefree build in the game (title and EU) are included right in the box
It really depends on why you are in this game in the first place.
Are you here because you like Star Wars? Go for the Falcon.
Are you here because of gameplay? Go for the Outrider.
