Last year there was talk about having the tourney on another day other than opening day. Is there going to be a tourney this year, and if so, what day?
Trying to figure this out well ahead of day-of, hoping that info is known!

Totally forgot to look into PAX this year. Went a few years back and had a blast. Whoops.

I'm sure there will be a tourney, but for more information lets turn to the PAX Forums:
When do I sign up for tournaments?
Tournament registration is Friday or Day of. Look out for each departments Tournament thread for specific information when it gets close to PAX. If there's no thread for the tournament type you are interested in, head to that department asap when you get to pax to get the information! Get there early, most tournaments fill up within an hour or two of PAX opening.

Will x tournament or event be happening at PAX?
Possibly, announcements will be made about 3-4 weeks prior to PAX. Keep an eye on the forums for details! each department that does tournaments will usually make its own post about said tournaments and their rules.

Haven't seen anything yet. Seems like the Friday evening tourney is capped @ 32. Wonder if that's true or if they'll expand it?

I'd like to ask some advice on this... I assume this is a non-standard format. My buddy and I are thinking of participating, but neither of us have played Epic or outside of our friends playgroup. He plays rebels and I play scum, exclusively. I have a Firespay and the two ties from the starter, so I think he can toss a list together for imp. I'm only planning on bringing a scum list, which based on the short description, sounds acceptable. We normally share my templates, damage deck, dice, etc., so we are planning on getting him a starter prior to Saturday, so he has his own.
Does this all sound good? Is there any advice anyone can give for folks that are new to public play, or even more specific to this format? Any advice on lists?
I appreciate any advice that you guys can provide

Wanted to post my thanks to FFG and the players that were at the Friday tourney. For my now second tourney, I had a blast. I was in the last pod, ended up taking 2nd place and enjoyed every moment!
I took 4b's and a Z, and lost to a rebel control. If I had flown a bit better, the result might have been different.

Everyone that attended got a Guri alternate art card. During the tourney they had three random drawings for a 2013 Boba Fett alt art card. I won one of them. The prize given to each pod's top pilot was a set of dice.
All in all, it was a great little mini-tournament!
