Having this parts of plastic I thought of messing around a bit to construct my own Raider-Like ship. Of course, there are two problems:
1. Heighten the "rim" (the "trench" that goes around every triangle and connects the upside and downside of a SD)
2. Making a "typical" boxy bridge
Thoughts, ideas and shared experiences are welcome.
I don't think the 'rim' or edge section is all that important. If you are really concerned about this though you could cut the model in half and space it out in between the top/bottom layers. I would also cut away the back section with cabin and fin and start from scratch there.
With a cross section as flat as the Delta 7 i would definitely put the rim around the hull. If it had a thicker diamond cross section that wouldnt be needed but as it is there probably isnt room for hull decks without it. except on the very centreline
I am making a cheap version using the "Star wars command" toy star destroyer. I am also making some turrets using some data ends from work and cut down RG-6 connectors.
