Quite simple. You put your cards over your pilot's cards but... FACEDOWN. You reveal the card when you use it. Simple, easy way to improve this weapons
Facedown Ordnance cards
For tournaments it creates a possible cheating scenario though. Everything being face up allows your opponent to make sure you are playing fair.
I'm sure you can come up with a dozen ways to solve this, but they will all be flawed or overly time consuming/complicated.
Except you'll still have to reveal your point total to your opponent, meaning they can just count how many points your ordnance is worth and then deduce what it is. "Oh, you have a four point item slotted into your Torpedo slot? Cool, nice Protons."
Even with missiles you bring it down to a 50/50 guess of which it is, which is only going to be made more predictable by what ship its loaded out on. It's worth three points and on an A-Wing? Well, guess those are Prockets. Maybe if you load down multiple ships with a variety of different ordnance, but then you're dedicating a bunch of points to ordnance that probably isn't particularly efficient, because...
...it does nothing to solve the fact that ordnance is still often difficult to use and requires extra actions in order to get the necessary dice modifications to make it worthwhile.
Edited by ComradebotDiscard the token needed to fire the weapon AFTER resolving the attack. Simple. And you know that i have expended x points in ordnance. 18 pts, 4 cards. But...will my 2 tie bombers carry each one impact plus one assault...or 2 impact on A plus 2 assault on B? Or B+A? Guided rounds?
Not a nerd variant, so easy...
