Darth Vader and Advanced Sensors

By TheDarkPilot, in X-Wing

So, question...

If i should decide to give Darth Vader an Advanced Sensor upgrade, does it cancel his 2nd Action.

As we all know the Advanced Sensor reads to perform 1 free action and then to skip the action phase...

Or can i perform both actions with Adnvaced Sensors...

"During your 'Preform Action' step, you may preform 2 actions."

Yes, it does. Vader gets an extra action in his Perform Action step. Advanced Sensors takes a free action and skips the Perform Action step.

Advanced Sensors on Vader is not that good. Since you only get 1 action instead of two

It's still pretty good on two of the new guys though.

Adv S. + Free Target Lock means you don't sacrifice damage for mobility

Adv S. + Variable maneuvers means Hypermobility got a new queen.

I skip the Perform Action step.... thats the whole issue....

Yes, you skip the perform action step, so you don't get Vader's ability.

I think we all know an errata or ruling will come out letting us know if it has been reworded to work once the Raider is released.

Because that worked with Night Beast. It is one of those things that just doesn't work.

No, we don't know that at all, and I would be surprised if they do, as it is completely unnecessary. Why is it so important that Vader and Advanced Sensors work together? Is he totally unplayable without the card? Why does this deserve to be changed?

Some cards just don't interact well. Kavil and BTL-A4, for example, is an entirely useless combination as you can't use his pilot ability any more. Should those cards be changed to work, as well?

I think everyone's just like "Double Action AND Adv Sensors without need of an EPT or stress reduction???" and is trying to make it work.

I'm just sitting over here, sipping my hot cocoa, waiting for folks to look at Alozen...

I DO love hot cocoa...

He does have it kinda baked in but it's not quite as useful since it has not one, but two restrictions: range and required action.

Mmm... hot cocoa... too bad it's already 70 degrees here. No cocoa needed.
