Imperial Nebulon-B Frigate

By DiabloAzul, in Star Wars: Armada

Someone at the FFG forums asked for an Imperial version of the Nebulon-B. Here it is (thanks to RogueKnight's fantastic templates):

Title%20-%20Enforcer.jpg

Title%20-%20Sentinel.jpg

Title%20-%20Reaper.jpg

Title%20-%20Implacable.jpg

Stats-wise it is (or should be) identical to its Rebel counterpart. I may add the Support Refit version later, as well as more title cards.

[EDIT: Added more title cards]

Do you think the enforcer card might be too cheap for what it does?

5 points for a third attack is a bit insane.

way too cheap.... would need to be 15points or a little more

Well, it's 2 dice at best, can't be on an arc that already fired (how often do you have targets in three separate arcs?) and it requires a Concentrate Fire command. It doesn't seem that great to me... I'd say it's definitely worse than Enhanced Armament!

How would you compare it to Gunnery Teams at 7 Points?

How would you compare it to Gunnery Teams at 7 Points?

That's a good question. Gunnery Teams lets the attacking ship stay out of the fray and still be effective, whereas Enforcer only gains a bonus when it charges into the middle of the enemy forces, which isn't likely to be often (or a good idea). Still I'd probably consider Enforcer to be worth a little more than Gunnery Teams if it didn't require a CF command - but it does, and that's a huge restriction, as confirmed by the very low cost of all other upgrades that require a specific command.

That's not to say 5 is definitely right; it's a ballpark estimate and it may well require adjustment after some playtesting. And of course there's a good chance I've missed an OP synergy somewhere. But I think it's as good a starting point as any.

It could be a second anti squad attack though, so 5pts is definitely too cheap. Probably should about 10. Or maybe give it a disadvantage for using it.

Maybe, though I still think the CF restriction is a massive downside. Without Wulff Yularen or some other form of gaining free command tokens (Tarkin doesn't quite count because it would force all other ships to use CF too), it's just not very effective. I'll leave it as it is for now, and recost it later if actual play shows it to be as good as you say.

In the meantime, here's two more title cards:

Game balance wise, the imperials should probably not have access to this ship at all.

*shrug*

Probably not, but it's made (with love) for those who like to experiment - and find out.

Here's another one:

Fairly weak with TIE Fighter and Interceptor squadrons, and totally useless with Bombers... but pretty sweet with Advanced squadrons and murderous with Darth Vader.

Excellent. Du you think make the same with the corvette?

Excellent work
