Like the titke says I'm after something that stores the ships on the pegs and bases?
Are there any box's or trays that store small and large bases standing up?
The Plano trays. Not only are they cheap and protect your ships, you can also store them ready to pull out and play with. I love them on the pegs and bases.

Rare earth magnets are really strong. You just glue them to the bottom of your bases. Then, you stick them on the metal lunch box.

I use adhesive magnets on the bottom of my bases, all you have to do is peel them off and stick them on. I then put them in a tool box I got for $15 and glued a metal sheet in the bottom. Once they are in I can even flip my box upside down with out anything falling out.

I wouldn't want to store my big ships on stands. It would break in transit too much. Those things are fiddly on the table, let alone in storage.
They make a deeper version of those plano boxes that will store small base ships in their bases upright. This is what I use and it works very well. Only issue is these larger tray boxes don't fit in a plano tackle box, so I have a box of boxes sort of thing going on. You can store around 20 small base ships in a single box though.

i emailed the creater and he is improving the design and creating the 2nd battle box and re launching the kickstarter
i shall see how the new design looks and make me decision again. i like the magnet idea but i would prefer not to put magnets on.
the reason im after a tray idea is that i display my minis and i dont want to pack them up and unpack them every time i go to play. if i can just select a few off the shelf and then use what i need would be ideal
