Conspiracy cards, a bit confused

By davide.mazzocchi, in CoC Rules Discussion

Hi, I'm a bit confused about conspiracy cards. I understand that they are just like story cards played by a player after paying their cost.

But, when a conspiracy refers to "you" what does this mean? Is it referring to the active player or to the owner or to the winner of the conspiracy?

My bets:

Unhortodox tactics: you = the player that wins skill comparison (owner or not)

Other conspiracies with the wording "if you win this": the winner of the conspiracy

Thanks, d.

yes, I think you have it right.

Ok, thank you.

So the YOU is the player that wins the conspiracy or that meets the specific conditions!

Like so many cards in this cycle, it's poorly written. On the other hand, it doesn't matter. The word 'You' can apply to any/all people reading the card (including spectators) - only one of those people will ever have won the conspiracy before any struggles have occured, and they are the person who may choose which of its struggles resolve.
