I like the adv sensors on Kagi because we all know how hard it is to keep space cows in a fight sometimes.
It is still 2 ships to control 1 ship. Just now instead of a proc from an attack just like RPGs there is an AOE aura effect which could potentially affect more than 1 ship but still you need 2 ships for the full control effect.
Edited by MarinealverTrue, but I like the extra punch Procket Strom has. Plus, I'm happy to let Kagi float around with middle for a while, messing with target locks, denying hits with Carnor/Jammer, and handing out stress.

But there is a big difference between two ships being able to control one ship and two ships being able to control a whole swarm if they manage to keep good positioning. Obviously the opponent would break rank and scatter as much as possible but this is still an incredibly disruptive list without needing arcs, shooting, etc

This is true however Carnor Jax has already been proving himself on the battlefield. (Vassal) He alone can disrupt quite a bit of damage and force the target lock when they would rather have a focus.te
I would say the order of disruption comes in this order Carnor <- Storm <- Kagi
Easily at any time you can achieve 2 of the 3 disruptions most easily Carnor and Kagi. This means Enemy target locks go to a ship other than jax who is sitting at range 1 AND they cannot focus. When Storm comes in, at this point you are just icing the cake.
no.
fear.
Cluster mines. Proton bombs. Meh to your controlling my tokens. Enjoy the booms.
Really any ship with secondary weapons isn't afraid of Strom, and any ship with Predator isn't too worried about Carnor. Both are pretty popular (and this is talking pre-Wave 7).
Kill Carnor first with your Mangler/Prockets/Ion or Autoblaster Turret + Predator, then you're free to use focuses and can take out the others.

I don't think that secondary weapons are that much of an impact vs. Strom. HLC's and Ion Turrets are the most common 2ndary, with Manglers being next. Also, I think that Strom works against numerous ships. I'm thinking BBBBZ.
Carnor Jax is still a good arc dodger. You might not have the ability to target him as you want. He can still turtle up pretty nice for defense, as well.
Personally, I'd rather go with a bunch of Academy for blocking than the shuttle. That's better control of the table. They also benefit from Carnor and Strom very well.
Without advanced sensors or an engine upgrade, it all becomes a matter of waiting Kagi out and getting the fight behind him. I would personally remove rebel captive from Kagi in this context. Better that the enemy wastes rounds shooting the shuttle and letting both Carnor and Strom get into the position that they really want.
This'll be a lot of fun. I already thought Kagi + Jax was a blast, and certainly effective.
Edit:
You just got me really excited with Elusiveness + Sensor Jammer. I can see the annoyed look on my opponent's face as 2 hits are modified into nothing.
Edited by phild0It is an interesting squad, but it probably could still be taken in a joust by more vanilla squads. Almost all your control is within range 1. Your upgrades on the ceptor and the advanced are doing little outside that range and will not fare much better than a regular advanced and interceptor in a joust there(which is to say, not well against rank and file jousting ships). I think the strengths of the squad would be outside the joust, using the maneuverability to split the enemy's jousters' arcs up and picking off what you can at close range.
mmm... kinda tasty. Needs more dark curse.

Autoblastter Turret is really the only thing that carnor doesn't like. If you are moving carnor correctly you shouldn't be getting shot by a mangler cannon (or at least it should be range 3). Predator only helps with one of your rolls (as long as carnor stays at 8). averaging about 2 htis out of three dice.
