PSA: Juno doesn't have 6 straight, 4 turns, & 4banks

By ryanabt, in X-Wing

Simple...if the Raider box includes a 6 strait or a 4 turn/bank, then your able to use it. If not...well you cant make a move you don't have a template for (and if you go buy a STAW 6 strait your opponent is allowed to donkey-punch you).

What find great is how everyone was getting hard for Vader...then these cards drop and the community is like "Darth Who?"

Well since the image didn't have 6 straights or 4 turns (bank or hard) and since I don't see those templates in the production shot I would place a bet that 6 straight and 4 turns will not be in the game. (hence why I crossed out 5 straight and 3 turns on dial selection)

As for Darth Vader IMHO is still the best Tie Advanced Pilot in the game with the double action that doesn't add stress or take an EPT slot or use a unique modification all at Pilot skill 9. Vader VI will match VI Han Solo.

That being said there is the question on how effective the title fix is at making it competitive with a free sensor upgrade or a 1 point Tie Adv only upgrade. Still I consider the Tie Advanced is an Imperial version of the X-wing that had the raw end of the deal with trades like 1 extra green die for 1 less red die (never trade red for green!).

Her rule is pretty easy to understand if you are not looking to exploit the rules. Off course one cant make maneuvers not in the game, so no 6 straight and 4 turns. As for the greens, her 2 wont always be green. Only when you choose a 1 bank but change it into a 2. If you chose the 2 bank, you have the option to change it into both a 1 and 3, but will not get a green. Pretty cool tactical decision. The text says cAn execute, not how the dial always is.

The maneuver chart for a standard TIE Advanced (left) shown alongside a chart that illustrates the maneuvers that Juno Eclipse can execute (right).

You mean I can't perform maneuvers that don't even exist in the game?

Exactly... What's the fuss about. I mean technically they could have included new movement templates, but i did not really expect it...

The fuss is that it's somewhat improperly explained, and that the explanation comes in a web article that is in no way a mandatory read to play the game.

True enough, but assuming that FFG has suddenly added 3 new maneuvers just for one ship, and a single pilot of that ship is a bit much.. common sense says legal moves..

Agrue if you must, but I'll just ask you to show me the official FFG X-Wing miniatures templates..

You get the 2 Green Bank because you just adjust the numerical value of the speed, you don't change the actual selected maneuver. Same reason the Strait 4 and 1 are green. I really don't see an FAQ needed here.

You need an FAQ if people aren't getting it, no matter how obvious it is.

As it currently stands, the only thing definitely disproving Juno's ability to do 6 straight or 4 turns is the dial picture in the article.

The thing disproving it is when someone tries to 4 bank and finds out they have no template for it.

Actually, it is explained in a manner that is clear to everyone when including the maneuver template. Then, some assume that it won't be explained appropriately in the box including the model. Then, they use that assumption to explain their misreading of the initial article.

So to sum up, people purposefully misread a clear initial article based on the assumption that the later kit won't have the same adequate explanation.

I'm so glad that other people get the fact that you don't need a new dial. If you pick 2 bank, it's not auto green.

I am also still most interested in Vader. Juno is neat, but I probably won't take her most of the time. I want Fat Vader and generic Tie Advanced. I also like some of the other guys better for list concepts. Juno is great as an elite, but doesn't really lend to list building. If your list is 3 elites that work independent, then sure, she's great. If you want a list that all works together, I'll go for Strom, Carnor Jax, and Tie Fighters.

Still I will say this out of all I have seen I haven't seen anything that will propel the Tie Advanced to top tier. They might finally be on par with X-wings but again how many X-wings do you see on the table these days?

No fair you're all using logic based arguments, this is the interwebz!

Then you haven't seen what Vader, vessery and maarek can do to a large ship in one turn.
