how many cards I need to build a right deck?

By JoseG, in UFS Deck Building

ok Im a newbie and I want to know the correct number of attacks, blocks, foundations, etc. to build a correct deck .

In newfs like they call it. SCIV set and Shadowar about 16-18 attacks is standard for me :)

Blocks well, just get as many as you can.. this is a fighting game and you wont last without blocking :)

foundations 35-42 depending on the amount of assets/actions/attacks you are running

also run alot of characters. +0 midblocks and 6 checks are sweet

character cards? I thought that you can only use character cards as avatars

you can use characters in your deck in order to block and pass control checks :)

also you can stack your characters, look at Jin, Kazuya and Yi-shan, they are based on stacking characters, what you do then is playing your char as a foundation, and then during the end phase it is fused with your starter character

wow, this is cooler than I thought. it is like powerin up. **** if I could play with somebody with lots of experience.

where do you live im sure there is an established play area somewhere close to where you live

But as for your question it really depends on your personal playstyle:

Like if you want to be an aggro character who beats face then 20-24 attacks arent a bad idea

But if you want a bit more control and a slower paced game then somewhere around 14-16 is a good number

It also depends on the symbol you want to play if you give us an idea of what you want to build we could help you out for sure

I live in spain and here the game is not sponsored by stores but there are people who gather in some stores and have fun playing it.

I want to build a morrigan deck but people have told that she is for more experienced players but Im a big head and will do it, any ideas for one?

also can you play all the attacks and foundations you want in the combat phase? Im asking this because I have read in the rules that if you fail playing a form ability the combat phase ends inmediately.

Which morrigan is it that you want to build there are 3 of them that are in print

Yes your combat phase ends immediately after you fail a form and dont have any foundations to commit to pass your check. Thats why its better to play foundations at the beginning of the game and set up for a bit.

And during your attacking turns you can play foundations after your attacks as long as you can still pass the control checks

You're from Spain? I know there's a couple of groups there, let me see if I can find their forums.

I think there's a group in Barcelona but I'm unaware if there are other groups beside them, or if the forums are updated.

I take it you only have cards from the that set.....

As far as i can see it looks good do you have anybody to play against at the moment? What do you have problems dealing with?

right now no, I will go to a store where the owner plays UFS and will play with me. Ill come back if I dont understand something and will ask whatever I need to you. thanks guys.

your welcome we were all in your position once just learning the game so its only natural that we return the favors that were given to us.

hey guys I was looking jedah cards, and found them odd. How does he plays? do you always send your opponent foundations to his momentum as form of control? or there is card that let you have advantage of your opponent momentum?

Yeah its mostly just a form of control if there is a foundation that is making it hard for you to kill your opponent like damage reduction or some sort of negation

but there are cards out there that take advantage of your opponents momentum....Like letting you use it for your powerful ability or giving your attack damage based on how much momentum they have

thanks for the quick responses DGC, maybe Ill build a jedah deck too, sounds cool.

Hey DGC could you help me with a jedah deck, but only with darkstalkers and realm of midnight cards, those are the cards I can get with less difficulty.

Im not very familiar with jedah but i could try if you want to post what you got

I have the normal jedah cards, dark messiah, grand vision, makai high noble, proba dei cervo, soul absorption and dio cega, those are the jedah cards I have but I dont know how to mix the cards with the others of the set to make the deck.

You could go fire with Jedah, Open up with Prova Dei Cervo Powered up by an Eternal Rule , and if you got momentum, do the E: on prova to give all your attacks + 3 for the rest of the turn. The king of golden Kingdom can be used to give your next attack more speed and eventually let you use Jedahs E:

I reccomend looking at some of anakaris stuff, it is really good for fire decks, If you go air.. look at felicia cards, Order, well would not reccomend this to a new player but you will get the biggest cardpool here for Jedah.

thanks a lot mordai.
