Good grief, get over yourself. Four weeks old is hardly necroing a thread. If it were a four MONTH old thread you start getting into questionable territory. But I would much rather someone dredge up an old thread and make a meaningful post in it than another "me too" post in a recent thread.
Me too!
This has all made me very tempted to go open one of the 'what will this xwing game be like when it's released' posts from page 500+
Starkiller? Who cares. Give me the Rouge Shadow. That thing looks too sweet not to have on the board. Don't care if the stat line is all 1's it looks too good.

If it was all 1s though, it would be super cheap. New swarm!
Disney didnt through everything out the window. Everthing I wrote is taken from people, during Q&As, that make SW stories or approve canon. Like I said, the only things made non-canon in SW is the Old Republic mmorpg addons. This fact was made during the last SW celebration during a Q&A. Everything else is Secondary type A canon. Also I thought I should point out that Legends are still Legends in universe even if the fine details are made incorrect.
This is incorrect. The only canon is the 6 movies, Clone Wars ( + movie), Rebels, and books starting with Tarkin and moving forward.
Disney does retain the *option* of pulling whatever they want out of the existing materials that are out there, including games, but canon that does not make it. Existing materials yes, not canon
This thread is craaaaazy.
The official approved canon sources are the six films, The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Insider starting in issue 149, information in the StarWars, com Databank, information in the now defunct StarWars.com encyclopedia, and officially-licensed material after the 2014 cutoff (with exceptions as FFG sees fit).
I believe the only reference to FFG Star Wars games being canon sources was a question about the Star Wars RPG books, which Heddle responded to with "We'll figure it out."
That's not exactly a glaring approval for any FFG game, including XWTMG. It doesn't outright throw it out.
So far, we've had no indication that FFG SW games are canon or non-canon. It is entirely possible that a statement will or will not come forward that might include all or some of the FFG SW material as canon or might declare it all as non-canon.

There have been statements about officially licensed products and video games in particular.. but they stated that those officially licensed products will have exceptions as they see fit. GameSpot reported on this April of last year. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/lucasfilm-confirms-all-future-star-wars-content-to-be-canon-including-the-games/1100-6419225/

Most forums actually have a 30 day rule. And was it really a meaningful post? Were it new, relevant information then maybe I'd be less annoyed by it, if other threads weren't dug up at near random twice a week then maybe I'd be less annoyed by it. But it's almost like people are actively looking for threads to dig up.
Have you posted your objections in any of the other necroed threads, or is it really just TFU that gets you all riled up?
Rouge Shadow.

If life's an awful bore
And living's such a chore
That we do 'cause death's not much fun
I've just the antidote,
And though I mustn't gloat,
At the Shadow Rouge you'll have fun!
Scratch that little niggle
Have a little wiggle
You know that you can
Because we
Can can-can!
Don't say you can't, can't can't!
Because you can can-can!
Since this was brought back into discussion today, I'd like to point out that Garm Bel Iblis, who also appeared in The Force Unleashed, is in Armada in Wave 1. So just another TFU reference!
Starkiller is coming!

Unfortunately, no. I mean, he is in that game, but he didn't originate in it. And was in a ton of stuff long before TFU.

Dude. Seriously. YOU are the only one complaining. I can't tell you how many times I've made a post about a subject that has already been discussed, and the first 2 or 3 posts are links to some other post. There are FAR more people who complain about duplicate threads, than those who complain about posting in a 4 week old thread. I mean hell, one time there were 7 ACTIVE threads on page 1, about fixing the TIE Advanced. And HOW many "Star Destroyer" threads did we have before the Raider was announced? Someone actually uses the search function and continues a discussion, and all you have to do is berate them over and over and over again?
YOU are not the forum police.

My knowledge of his appearances are indeed limited. I'm halfway through the Zahn trilogy now, and he is in that, but I am unaware of anything else. And from what I gather he was a pretty important guy, so it stands that he might be in other stuff, but I'm just grasping here. I honestly don't think Starkiller realls NEEDS to be in this game, I am just a huge fan of his character in TFU and would love to see a Rogue Shadow expansion for the game, so it's fun to speculate and stuff.

I don't remember the topic right now, but at one point I got pretty tired of the same question being asked over and over again, so when it got asked again I did a quick search and posted a reply with, I think it was, 14 recent threads answering the question.
Duplicate threads are a much more serious issue than zombie threads.
Another amusing anecdote about thread necro. On Warseer once there was a thread in the site discussion forum asking the admins to do something about people necro-ing year old threads just to say "yeah, me too". About 2 years after the last post someone posted "yeah, I agree" in it. Nobody was ever able to tell if it was a deliberate joke.

Which says nothing about the video games specifically. Should it be any surprise that GameSpot wanted clarification on whether games were going to be considered canon and reached out to LF for clarification?

Zahn first appeared in the Zahn books and is all over the Legends fiction. He was also in Empire at War: Forces of Corruption but I (sadly) don't expect that to mean the Zann Consortium is going to be in X-wing. (Although I would love to see the Skipray Blastboat and the Rihkxyrk assault fighter, even though the latter wasn't actually in Empire at War but was in Galaxies.)
Overpowered Inbound.....

Overpowered Inbound.....
... only in combination with the Emperor.

I think he is confusing the character Tyber Zann with the author of the Thrawn series Timothy Zahn
