I'm that guy who had the ships to fly the three bountyhunter list. I have spent so much money on this game and I was happy to do it ...

...I have X-wings, 5 of them

I have A-wings, 6 of them

I have B-wings ... Y-wings... YT-1300s and YT-2400s, TIE Fighters, Interceptors, TIE Advanced, TIE Bombers...

... I have every ship that was released prior to the Scum faction release, and of all those ships there are only three of them that I don't have more than one copy. I have one, Shuttle, HWK, and YT-2400. of all the ships I have at least two, most of them I have enough to field a squadron of all the same ship type.

You're talking to someone who has 3 Falcons. The only things I can't build a 100 point list spam list completely out of are the shuttle, HWK, 2400, M3-A Interceptor, scum Z's, and Rebel Z's. I have 2 shuttles, 2 HWK's, 2 2400's, 5 M3-A's, 7 Scum Z's, one of which I acquired by trading my 8th rebel z for. So that means 4 Phantoms, 4 Starvipers, 3 E Wings, etc. I almost opened a 4th TIE Advanced but then the Raider was announced so I sold it to a friend.

I only have 1 rebel aces set, but I traded all of my red A Wings for blue ones, looks great. I also managed to trade those terrible pink and white B wings I had for the regular ones.

Wave 7 I'm probably going to get two ofs of everything except the Hound's tooth, waiting to see more of the stats on the scum fighter. Armada doesn't interest me unless it's viable to fly nothing but squadrons of TIE Fighters, lol.

And here is the guy who has 2 Corellian Corvettes to play with one of them as an Imperial or scum CR-90 in casual play. In fact i'd love to have any official imperial cards for CR-90. I cant just wait to use the imperial crew cards of the Raider with them.

I'm not trying to start a thread war so get over it This is not whining or complaining, this is just my thoughts.

I've been considering stopping once the Raider comes out. I only purchased S&V for the cards and I think I'm going to house rule that either side include S&V in their Imperial or Rebel builds (I handle uniques differently). The Bombers could use a nudge and so could the X-Wings but I don't know if they need it enough to keep me buying.

It is a fun game to be sure and I love the thematic aspect of Star Wars but, for me at least, it is getting a little carried away with buffs and fixes. I purchased the Star Viper for the TIE Interceptor. Yes I know I didn't have to buy anything and that is my point. I don't have to so I may find a good place to quit and enjoy what I have. The B-Wings only push the X-Wings out by a little bit so any fix has to be delicate; ordnance, though seldom used, is still fun once in a while. Additionally I'm not sure if I even want to see ordnance in every game. That could mess everything up so maybe a fix isn't needed for my play tastes. Unfortunately this will limit or stop my play at two game stores.

As I said I'm definitely in for the Raider, she is sweet looking. Most likely I'm in if they release an Imperial Gozanti Cruiser. The TIE Punisher and K-Wing (which don't really impress me but don't turn me off either) will be the first wave I am definitely going to wait and see. Wait and see if there are enough extra cards for my existing bombers and y-wings; wait and see how they impact the game or if they break something else. Right now I have the ships from the movies plus some of the most popular EU so all in all Star Wars: X-Wing is pretty awesome without the next wave. Well except for the Raider.

So my prediction for the future? I'll let you know once I get there.

I often feel like I don't need a particular wave. I didn't feel much interest in Wave 5, but ended up with some holiday cash and ended up getting it. I think I've flown my Outrider only once, which is about how much I've flown my Falcon. I do find that the various upgrade cards grab my attention. That's what really gets me interested in the new Waves. I don't have much interest in Wave 7, but I do want those upgrade cards in the Tie Punisher.

Got 4 Alpha Interceptors right now, want to get them to 12

I have 9 interceptors. 3 plain, 3 stripe, 3 red. In epic games the 6 plain/stripe are regulars, reds are barons aces.

As a fan of the Original Trilogy and having zero interest in the EU .. I have nearly all of the ships I want/need. Once I grab 2 bombers, a Firespray and a shuttle I am set. I will not doubt ever buy an EU expansion (with a possible exception to the Raider as it is passable for a Star Destroyer).

I think the key is finding what interests you and sticking with it. I'm lucky in that my circle of gaming friends are all like minded and we fly very casual, we proxy cards for our lists and will never play in a competitive setting.

This keeps the game fun and fresh for us as everything on the board is purely for fun. Having said this, I understand that the word 'fun' is subjective .. but you get my point.

Apart from ground based units, FFG has exhausted the supply of OT ships.

I did just pick up 3 more Tie Interceptors for my 5 x Alpha Squadron Autoceptors list. I still don't have Imperial Aces, though.

I think if you read my OP you will find I am talking mostly about X-wing, I do mention Armada, but that is not what the post is about.

Are you suggesting that ANY post that mentions Armada should be in the Armada thread even if it is predominantly about X-wing?

Sounds like you've bought enough X-Wing for 3 players, I wouldn't feel guilty about giving your wallet a break if I was you.

My collection is quite modest compared to many others, but I feel like I have more than enough to fly a hundred different lists if I wanted to and not get bored. I skipped Wave 6 and just bought the cards I needed, and will most likely only be buying the title and ATC when the Raider comes out and 2 K-Wings when Wave 7 hits.

You might want to add up the cost of all the expansions you've bought so far to see just how much money you've already given FFG and use that to feel better about giving your wallet a break.

Move up to 150 point games.

We find a 4x4 table with 8 obsticals (a combination of the 6 asteroids and 6 derbies fields) optimal.

And running 6 X-wings is actually a very competitive list in that format. Though I like my current list of 4 X's and an E with the highest PS being 6 a lot as well. Requires very crafty flying.

Although if your the guy who would being 150 points in naked shuttles or bounty hunters, were going to have a problem! XD

Like a few of you here, I dislike most of the EU ships and avoid them. However, anything that appeared in the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance games gets a thumbs up. So I gladly purchased some Defenders and Z-95s.

[Edit: Yes, I'm aware the Z-95 - a favorite of mine ever since reading "Han Solo at Star's End" when I was a kid - is now canon, thanks to Filoni's "Clone Wars." But the X-Wing Miniatures model is clearly based on the version showcased in those X-Wing/TIE Fighter PC games.]

They do have a point. An "I'm going to Armada" thread in the X-wing forum... why, exactly? There are loads of these but why do people feel the need to post them, and moreover post them in the X-wing forum?

But I suppose while we're at it I'm feeling a total hype of nothing at all for Episode 7 stuff, but I expect FFG's approach isn't going to be "stick 30 years out of era and come to think of it out of faction ships into Rebel and Empire." They'll probably handle 7 differently.
