Like I said, I love this game. By far my favorite game I have ever played. It has evertying. Quick and easy rules (for a table top mini game); I think I would go so far as to say the game is elegant. Rewards skill and stratigic thinking, this is possibly my favorite thing about this game. You have to ask yourself, what do I think my oppnent is going to do, then how am I going to counter that, all before your opponent makes any moves. Fighter combat, this is of course a personal preference thing, but I have always thought dogfighting fighter combat was just plane Awesome! Oh, and it is Star Wars! This also is a taste thing, but I think it goes further than that. I don't just like Star Wars, or even think it is Awesome. I love Star Wars, it is a defining element of my childhood.

So it is easy to see why I bought EVERYTHING for this game. EVERYTHING!. And lots of it. I'm that guy who had the ships to fly the three bountyhunter list. I have spent so much money on this game and I was happy to do it. In fact I was frusterated with slow releases (oh, that cursed slow boat from China) because it wouldn't let me spend my money!!!

But after all that I think I have finally come to a point where I might not need to buy much more stuff. I sort of feel bad about this, because I want to reward FFG with my buisness. I want to give them my money as a reward for making such a wonderful game. I want FFg to keep releasing expansion waves, because that is what you need to do to keep a game alive. But I don't think I need much more.

I think I came to the concluseion after playing a couple of games of Armada. It is a fun game, but not world shattering awesome game taht X-wing is. But even after I realized that I liked X-wing better I realized that I was going to be spending my money on Armada.

It all comes down to this: I have X-wings, 5 of them

I have A-wings, 6 of them

I have B-wings ... Y-wings... YT-1300s and YT-2400s, TIE Fighters, Interceptors, TIE Advanced, TIE Bombers...

... I have every ship that was released prior to the Scum faction release, and of all those ships there are only three of them that I don't have more than one copy. I have one, Shuttle, HWK, and YT-2400. of all the ships I have at least two, most of them I have enough to field a squadron of all the same ship type.

What I don't have is a Star Destroyer, or an MC-80.

I not a super cometative gamer, so I don't NEED to have every ship and every card in order to be able to play this mounths Meta. I still love my TIE Swarm. I think I can play this game for a long time without needing to buy any mor ships.

Oh, I am pretty sure I will buy more ships, that new TIE super-bomber thing (I don't remember what it is called) just looks too cool to pass up. But I think the days of getting everything the day my LGS gets it in stock and then comming back to get more so I can field an all TIE Bomber list may be past.

In conclusion. I love you Star Wars: X-Wing, and I always will, but I have already spent a lot of money on you. It might be time to help out some other game. You little brother Armada looks like he could use some love.

I definitely felt that way. Then I bought another b wing, y wing, yt1300, and now I'm eyeing up a third phantom a second advanced and trying to figure out how my box will accommodate all the punishers I'm going to buy.

You're talking to someone who has 3 Falcons. The only things I can't build a 100 point list spam list completely out of are the shuttle, HWK, 2400, M3-A Interceptor, scum Z's, and Rebel Z's. I have 2 shuttles, 2 HWK's, 2 2400's, 5 M3-A's, 7 Scum Z's, one of which I acquired by trading my 8th rebel z for. So that means 4 Phantoms, 4 Starvipers, 3 E Wings, etc. I almost opened a 4th TIE Advanced but then the Raider was announced so I sold it to a friend.

I only have 1 rebel aces set, but I traded all of my red A Wings for blue ones, looks great. I also managed to trade those terrible pink and white B wings I had for the regular ones.

Wave 7 I'm probably going to get two ofs of everything except the Hound's tooth, waiting to see more of the stats on the scum fighter. Armada doesn't interest me unless it's viable to fly nothing but squadrons of TIE Fighters, lol.

So yeah, *Peter from family guy voice* you think that's bad? If they'd release more cool **** like the assault gunboat or TIE Avenger I'd get the maximum amount of those too.

We tried building a Victory-class Star Destroyer. It was roughly 10" long at 1:270 scale... this was well prior to the Epic format and would be a blast to play on now. Sigh. The body was done, the bridge was starting to take shape, and then the project was scuttled.

Yeah all the memorable ships from the movies have been added and now only the obscure ships in the EU is left. I think I am done with most of my Star Wars spending for FFG.

I understand what the OP means. But I think we're in a little lull, just to allow Armada some time to breath and before Wave 8 is announced as Ep VII X Wings, Black Ties (strictly no jeans or trainers) and Square-rectenna Falcon.

I think the K-Wing and Punisher, as models, are hideous-looking things which would never have got a 'fabuloso' stamp, but I like the Hounds Tooth and the Kihrax (I know, mis-spelt) has its place in the Scum fleet. The cards and upgrades are exciting enough to prompt me to buy at least one of each, more so if the new TIE upgrade is usable on my swarm.

A deeper plunge into EU obscurity may provoke a similar response from me in that I simply cannot relate to the ship as I have no movie point of reference to refer to, but hopefully FFG are simply easing off the pedal prior to a flurry of Ep VII releases.

In the meantime, we've got the Raider, upgraded TIE X1, and the upgrades in Wave 7 to play with and keep us all flying casual.
